Abba Garden

I was looking for a convenient and affordable hotel close to the University area and I happened to come across this one. With a flight cancellation, they kindly kept my reservation and welcomed me with refreshments upon my arrival. The rooms were a bit outdated, but they were clean and the shower was great. An added bonus was the swimming pool - a great way to relax after a long day. On the day of my departure, they were kind enough to provide me with a breakfast box, as I needed to leave before breakfast time. All in all, I had a good stay and would use this hotel again.

We stayed two nights at Abba Garden and were very disappointed to find the air conditioning not functioning, the safety box unusable, and the telephone lines dead. The staff were friendly, but it was no consolation, as the hotel was too far away from the sights and attractions. All the rooms had similar issues, which made our stay unbearable. I’d never go back, and it was a real shame as it ruined our trip, especially as there were 37 of us.

The staff were really friendly but we weren't overly impressed with the hotel. FACILITIES - The hotel is clean, however, we felt like it lacked the luxuries and amenities of a 4-star hotel. The pool and Jacuzzi was a nice perk. The restaurant was okay, but nothing special. LOCATION - It was a bit too far from the city centre, however, the Lidl was conveniently close. The downside was being next to a hospital, as ill patients being taken in and out in ambulances was quite distressing. All in all, it was okay but we wouldn't stay here again.

After then it worked better but it was still a bit warm.
We enjoyed our stay at Abba Garden. After a long flight, it was nice to be greeted at the door by a concierge service. The check-in staff were friendly and helpful, even when they were very busy. The room was well-sized, with a large bathroom, and the view of the tennis court and pool was lovely. The complimentary cold water in the reception was a nice touch, and the vending machines were easy to access. The aircon did need some adjustment, but the hotel staff were quick to resolve the issue. All in all, we had a pleasant experience at Abba Garden and would recommend it to others.

Negatives - Very limited restaurant options (nothing in the evening) so quite a few trips to the local restaurants - Poor-ish air con system in the room, even when set to ‘cold’ you still had to keep it on for most of the night to cool it enough - Most room amenities a bit cheap and not of great standard

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at Abba Garden. It was great to be able to take in the city skyline from our room, and the pool was nice and quiet. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast options were great. We had a good few hikes nearby and enjoyed the beer selection, too. We do wish that there was a better air con system and more evening restaurant options. But it was good for the price point.
