I recently visited Barcelona and stayed in a youth hostel that shall remain nameless ?. From the outside it seemed like the perfect place to stay in a great location, however once inside it was a different story! The building was full to the brim and ?♂️ the majority of guests were Eastern European men who had a habit of wandering around shirtless and shouting to each other ?. I was the only female in my 8 bed dorm and felt very uncomfortable, especially as they had been drinking in the room until late at night. I asked to move rooms but was told that I was the only woman in the whole hostel ?♀️. When a few other women eventually checked in, they were spread out across the hostel and I had to spend at least one more night alone in the dorm (which I think is something hostels should try not to do for safety reasons). The kitchen was small, but had free tea, coffee and biscuits ?. As for the showers, they were push button ? and one of them had a 3 second timer which made washing my hair quite a challenge! Unfortunately I found the atmosphere in the common areas and in my dorm very uncomfortable and the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful ?. I would not recommend staying here ?♂️.
I stayed at this youth hostel in Barcelona and it was a very interesting experience. The staff were really nice and the location was great. However, the social area was quite small and the TV only played music all day long. The rooms had glass walls instead of regular walls, so the soundproofing was not great. Also, the light in the morning would wake everyone up. The toilets were clean, though I wasn't a fan of the lockers being outside the dorms.
I had a great stay at this youth hostel during April. The rooms were spotless and the staff were so welcoming. Even when I encountered a difficult situation (missing my flight), the hostel staff provided assistance with invaluable advice. The crew were wonderful, particularly Barbara, who made me feel so comfortable and made my transition to Barcelona a breeze!
The location of this accommodation was great and the reception staff were very friendly. However, my experience with the business owners was not a pleasant one. Initially, they would give me a certain price, only to charge me a different amount per night when my stay was over. Prices ranged from €25.70 to €37.70, and their reasoning for the changes was questionable. Furthermore, they would demand payment with a lot of pressure prior to the end of my stay and sometimes put members of the opposite gender in the same dorms. It was also common for them to cook late at night, and they had an explanation for everything, expecting guests to believe them without question.

Thanks to the staff of this youth hostel. I had an enjoyable stay here, which was only one night. The room was neat and had a pleasant atmosphere. The staff was available around the clock and were very respectful. Also, thanks for the coffee ☕. I am looking forward to staying here again soon ?.
