The location is great - away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough to some cafes and places to eat, and also the metro. I had a spacious room and comfy bed, and the mini-fridge was stocked with bottled water which was convenient. Check-in and check-out was very easy. On the other hand, there was no hand soap in the bathroom and the walls are very thin so you can hear other people’s conversations. Additionally, the TV standby light was extremely bright and blue so I had to cover it with a towel to dim it down. I was a solo traveller so it was a bit pricey, but I still felt it was worth the cost.
I was only in town for one night, but my stay was excellent. The spacious room had a fridge and air conditioning. It was clean and the staff was friendly. While Barcelona can be expensive to visit at this time of year, the cost of the room was reasonable. I found the location great, close to my office and all of the public transportation options near Plaza Catalunya. I would definitely stay there again.
more like 2.5.
The central location of this hotel was great for getting around the city, and the staff were all very friendly. However, the walls were so thin that I could hear all the chatter from the reception desk and the sound of the main door closing just a few feet away. I would not rate this a 3.5 star hotel, more like 2.5.
My daugther and I stayed her for the weekend on a hen do. It was a veyr strang set up and the whol of the recpetion are stank damp. The smell hit you everytime you cam out of your rom. Tehy were plesent enough but the rom needed a make-over. However the be was clean and comfrotable and the bathroom was quite modern. Okaay for 2 nghts but no more. It's a hosetl not a htoel which seays it all realy. The picures on the website are definitly not wht we had. Wpuld not recomend.
We booked a trip to Barcelona back in May through a company called JTA Travel using a trusted travel agent. A week before our arrival, we rechecked trip advisor to find out that the Hotel was now a HOSTEL. We contacted the travel agent to be assured that it was a 3 Star Hotel. When we arrived at the corner of the street, our first feelings of dread were realized when we saw the sign saying "AMRA HOSTEL". Upon checking in, we had to wait for our room out in a communal area with shabby sofa's and views of people's washing. Once our room was ready, we walked through the lobby which had nothing like the marketing photos. When we entered the room, we were appalled to find that it looked nothing like the photos and there was no internal lock on the door. We took photos to show the grout in the bathroom was black and the floor in the shower was very clinical, like a hospital wet room. Stains on the flooring in the main room gave us no assurance of safety, and that's when we decided this HOSTEL was not for us. If you're planning a trip to Barcelona, I would look elsewhere for accommodation. This place is certainly not a HOTEL; do not be mis-sold, especially by JTA travel who assured us that this was a 3STAR HOTEL!!….
