We had a great stay at this hotel located in a tranquil area of Barcelona. The staff were super welcoming and the breakfast was scrumptious. Rooms were neat and comfy. My only complaint is that the view from my room wasn't the greatest, but it's really minor. If we ever visit Barcelona again, we will certainly be booking our stay here!
What a huge let-down! ? The staff were so incredibly rude and unhelpful. Whenever we had a question, all they could say was 'I'll check with my manager', but we never did hear from them. We wanted to stay close to the beach and the hotel advertised a rooftop pool and bar, which was closed for the duration of our stay - without any prior notification! ? We even complained about it to reception, but they didn't seem to care. Unfortunately, our room didn't have the best view either...we were facing a wall and the balconies of some locals. ? The fridge was broken, dirty and we only got 1 bottle of water for the entire stay. No tea or coffee was available and the walls were paper thin - you could overhear every conversation in the corridor and there were lots of early morning noises from the rooms above. ? Even the vending machine didn't work, which would have come in handy as the bar was closed by the time we got back late in the evening. ? Plus, the bathrooms weren't exactly clean either. ? The only saving grace was the breakfast. ? All in all, this place doesn't live up to its promise and you can find much better value for money elsewhere. ? 2-3 stars max.
I booked the Attica 21 Barcelona Mar Hotel with high hopes due to their roof top pool. Unfortunately, it was a letdown from the start. Despite arranging early check in, it wasn't available upon my arrival. There were also no loungers near the pool, which only appeared near the end of my stay. The bar didn't open until 5 pm, so there was no possibility of drinks by the pool. My room was also quite underwhelming, as there were only two tea bags provided, with no coffee or milk. What's more, the staff appeared very disinterested. Lastly, it's important to note that the hotel is located in an unappealing area of Barcelona and is quite far from any nice bars or restaurants. All in all, I would not recommend it.
This beautiful hotel has the loveliest staff. The lady on the front desk was always cheerful and happy to help, as were the two bar staff we encountered. There was a great breakfast buffet with unlimited teas, coffees and juices. The bedding and towels were changed daily, and it was just a few minutes away from the beach. The rooms were spotless and modern. The rooftop pool was small but nice and it would have been great to have drinks available around the clock instead of only from the downstairs bar (which was open from 5-12pm). However, you could buy drinks and snacks from the three small supermarkets nearby. Taking a stroll along the beach for about 40 minutes will get you to the main tourist areas, or you could take a cheap taxi or cart. We had a lovely weekend and are thankful for everyone at this hotel.
The Attica 21 Barcelona Mar is definitely not a 4 star hotel. Basic things like toilet paper and cleanliness were sorely lacking. We had to beg for a kettle, and nothing was replaced over our stay. For the price they charge, you would expect more, though the beds were thankfully comfortable. The walls were paper thin and it felt like a motel stay. The biggest disappointment was the staff, being so unfriendly and unhelpful, with the exception of Xaui who was very nice. We felt like we were doing them a favour, not the other way around. We ended up feeling disappointed and taken advantage of - perhaps they should start with taking more pride in how they run their establishment. We won't be returning in the future.
