We arrived at this elegant looking hotel and were welcomed warmly. Our room keys were handed out and the rooms looked neat and tidy. Unfortunately, the negatives soon surfaced. Despite following the instructions for operating the safe exactly, it wouldn't work - it turned out to be a battery issue. As there was no service until Monday, this left us without a safe for the weekend. The bathroom looked great at first glance, but then a black hair in the shower caught my eye. Eventually I had to wash away both of them. I enjoyed a great rain shower, but my damp feet soon made contact with yet another three hairs and a dead fly, which I ended up flushing away. Every day brought a new strand of hair in the shower, making it look like a hair salon. Despite the friendly staff, the housekeeping let this place down and it affected my sleep negatively, not helped by the unsupportive mattress.
I was just looking for a place to stay for a couple of nights to attend the Barcelona Grand Prix, and this hotel was perfect for that. It was within 8-10 minutes of all the major attractions in the city. The staff were incredibly helpful and the room and bathroom were spotless. It was also well-equipped with all the usual amenities such as a TV, fridge and air conditioning, as well as being very quiet. Plus, they have an excellent breakfast - no complaints there either. Would I stay here again? Absolutely - no question about it!
I stayed for one night and though the room was aged, it had been redecorated. I really liked the spanking-new bathroom and shower. As expected in a metropolitan city, the rooms were on the small side - can be tricky if you travel with bulky luggage. It was quite peaceful (this is definitely something to appreciate in a bustling metropolis), though someone was talking loudly in the hall around 1:00 a.m. which woke me up - typical of Spain to be as loud as they are! Possibly the worst part was the breakfast, which was supposedly included in the room cost and advertised as a 5 euros special deal. When it arrived, orange juice, two cold butter and jam toasts, and a processed bun/scone, which I refused. Clearly not worth the price. Unfortunately, with Covid, I understand the restrictions of the buffet breakfast, but having a warm toast and asking if anything else is desired is not that difficult, and could have made a difference in the opinion of the service. Hopefully this provides some insight.
Location its pretty good in the center of the city.
The Barcelona Century Hotel was very impressive! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating which really put us at ease. The rooms were modern and very clean, but what really impressed us was the size! Our room and bathroom were tiny, but this didn't take away from the overall quality of the stay. The location of the hotel was also great; right in the center of the city with easy access to all the attractions. All in all, we had a great stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for quality, comfort and convenience.
Were. Amazing. In conclusion, we had a great time and we highly recommend this hotel.
We had a wonderful time staying at Barcelona Century Hotel for a week. The staff was incredibly helpful and courteous. They always greeted us with a warm welcome and bid us farewell the same way, no matter how many times we walked through the lobby. We had a small issue during our stay and they acted quickly to resolve it, which we really appreciated. The room was fine; plenty of space for us and our family and the street view, while not spectacular, was still enjoyable. The breakfast was great, especially the cappuccinos - they were delicious! To sum up, we had a wonderful time and recommend this hotel.
