An oasis in busy Barcelona
The hotel is an oasis in busy Barcelona. An old modernist building that has been modernized. Maria is extremely knowledgeable and helpful in recommending quaint restaurants and wonderful places to visit.

Staying at the B&B Boutique Ca La Maria Hotel in Barcelona was an experience. The building itself is absolutely stunning - it's 100 years old, with an old-fashioned elevator giving guests a unique experience. However, like any old building, the lack of insulation meant we were often disturbed by noise from our neighbours. Despite this, there were some nice touches - all day coffee and fruit, a lovely rooftop patio and a comfortable living room to hang out in. The amenities (towels, bed...) were nice too but our room fell short on expectations - it was damp, dark and had a mold smell, and the sink didn't even drain properly. Breakfast was decent but didn't make up for the lack of sleep due to thin walls. Overall, we had a nice stay but given the great reviews, we expected to enjoy it a little more.
