Born Barcelona Hostel

I visited Barcelona in the afternoon and it was a breeze to get to where I had to be. I was given a code via email for easy access and check in wasn't until 4 PM. The place was small but very clean and inviting. It was a kind and cozy atmosphere ?. Although you had to pay for towels, sheets and lockers with locks were provided. There were 3 bathrooms, never having to wait to use them. Plus there was a kitchen with a dishwasher, dining area, computer, and a terrace to enjoy the sun ☀️. The location was great too, 10 minutes away from the Gothic area. All in all, I highly recommend this place ?, a great experience all round! ???

I had booked a stay at the Born Barcelona Hostel six months prior to my arrival, and two weeks before my arrival I contacted them to ask if I could extend my stay by a few days. Unfortunately, they had already filled the bed and no more availability was open. I tried to cancel my booking to find another place to stay, but I was too late as I had to cancel 10 days prior to arrival. When I attempted to rebook my stay the hostel was full and I had to pay for the entire four days even though I couldn't stay. It was very frustrating trying to make the changes on my phone, and I feel taken advantage of since I was still 9 days away from the booking when I contacted them. I'm sharing my experience so no one else falls victim to the same situation.

Great location, very much like a shared apartment. We arrived late at night and were met with an envelope of instructions - really helpful! The place was small, but clean and tidy. The beds were quite noisy (we had this issue in different bedrooms) but it was still nice and quiet to stay in. We were able to meet other really cool people here and the staff were great. There were some really nice common areas and a great terrace.

I arrived at this hostel and wasn't told I had to use a code to get in and out until I asked about it. On another day, I returned in a hurry and they had changed the code. I was stuck outside for half an hour and couldn't reach anyone by phone or via Whatsapp to get the new code. I still haven't gotten any reply. Eventually, another guest told me the code had been changed. The beds were noisy and the person in the top bunk kept turning for an hour. There were three bathrooms, but you might have to wait for one. The location is good, with plenty of restaurants nearby.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hostel - it was simply the best! Everything was just as I had hoped - the hostel was well-equipped, with a brand-new and clean shower alongside great Wifi. What really made this place great was the fantastic hostess, Sabrina, who was so kind and welcoming. Its close proximity to my favourite area of the city was an added bonus! I can't wait to come back!
