Overall our stay was a bit of a let down.
The location of Casa Bella Gracia was excellent, but unfortunately I was very disappointed with my stay. The hot water went out from Sunday afternoon until Tuesday night, and the communication from the hotel was terrible. They promised a refund and then reneged, offering less than one night's rate back as compensation. Furthermore, there was only one teabag for two people and it was not replenished during our stay. The safe in the room did not work and the room was not cleaned at all. Furthermore, there was a lot of noise from other rooms, with banging doors, shouting, and other disturbances. Unfortunately, due to a lack of hotel staff, there was no one to address these issues. All in all, I was sadly let down by my stay at Casa Bella Gracia.
Once we got into the room, it was obvious why the office was abandoned--this place is a MESS. The furniture is broken, the sheets were rumpled and smelled, and the place was dusty. The kitchen had no food, only old cutlery and pans. The bathroom had no basic amenities, no toilet paper, no soap, no towels. The "spa area" was a joke, a tiny room with an out-of-date hot tub and a few broken massage chairs. The only thing that seemed to work there was the wifi, which was fast.
Location wise, Casa Bella Gracia was good. Right in the middle of the city and close to restaurants, shops etc. But other than that, I would not recommend this place to anyone. From the empty reception area to the dusty, poorly maintained rooms, it feels more like a "do it yourself" experiment gone wrong. No staff on site, no basic amenities, and no room numbers. It's a shame, since with a little care this could have been a nice place to stay. Unfortunately, it was anything but.
