This guest house may not offer luxury or top-notch amenities, but it's the little touches that will make you fall in love. My partner and I spent two nights here and left completely satisfied. The location in the Eixample district is fantastic, surrounded by plenty of restaurants and attractions within walking distance. It's also conveniently close to the charming maze of streets in the Ciutat Vella. The guest house occupies an entire floor of an older building, accessible by either a grand marble staircase or a slightly cramped but efficient elevator. Our room overlooked the bustling Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, which provided a lively atmosphere. The space itself exudes an old-world charm, from the beautiful tiled walls in the bathroom to the unique tiled floors. The communal kitchen area allows guests to prepare snacks or meals using the shared fridge space, reminiscent of simpler times for travelers. The price point is unbeatable, offering a safe and clean stay for just a little more than what you would pay at a hostel. In fact, I would happily book here again.
not sure if better in other areas
For the price, this budget accommodation was a great find in Barcelona. I found the room to be decent with a balcony overlooking the main road, and the staff was helpful. The bathroom was a good size as well. It was located near the metro, just a few stops away from the main attractions. The only difficulty was finding the place at first; there was nothing at the door to indicate the right button to press. Thanks to a helpful passerby, I managed to find it eventually. In terms of night time entertainment, there weren't many bars in the area open late.
This Guest House boasts a unique decor featuring Terra Cotta floors, mosaic tiles in the bathrooms, and old plaster walls, door and windows from the 1890s. Although the room size might be considered small by some, it met our needs. The bed was double but not as comfortable as we were used to. Despite this, we had no trouble falling asleep each night. The air conditioning was lacking and it had a bit of an odor when turned on, particularly in our room which faced the heat of the day. The bathroom was a bit cramped but the towels and linens were replaced daily which was nice. They also provided complimentary shampoo and shower gels which was a nice touch. On occasion, we were able to get a nice breeze from the open windows as well as get a glimpse of the hustle and bustle of the city. It was convenient to have three restaurants just outside the entrance and there was a great one across the street that we frequented for both breakfast and dinner. The staff were all kind and accommodating and provided us with a refrigerator to store food and drinks as well as a place to store our luggage. The location is also great as we were able to walk to most places, even the beach! We definitely would stay here again.
Just got back from a three night stay at this Guest House in central Barcelona. Pricing was very reasonable for a private double room. Melina was incredibly friendly and helpful, and I wouldn't hesitate to book here again ?.
We booke the fammy room, althoough ther were only two of us. At the time we booke, the price for the fammily room had a hard-to-refuce price compared to dpuble rooms in other hotels. The room was very cleean (Kudos to the cleaening staff.) The doubel bed was comortable and ther were two other smaller beds. It was roomy for Europeen standars. Our balcanay, directly ovelooking the motorcylces which were parkd in front of a restaurant that sits directly below. We expectd the noise factor form the outside seeing that we are in L'eixample area after all, near all the sites in Cuitat Vella ( Old City). We also have access to the kitchen and the fride ( great for storring drinks). Reagrig the staff, they were all frendly and attaenctive. The only con that I can say is the noise from flushing the toliet, using the tap and taking a shower can get annoyin. It sounded like water pumps working real hard ( I am not a plumder) . But then again, we are in Spain , not Las Vegas. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and highlly recomend to others especially if they have budght, location and comort in mind...
