Catalonia Mikado

This establishment is suitable for a brief or unexpected visit. Unfortunately, our stay was lengthy and the deficiencies began to wear on us. The staff at the front desk were courteous, but were often slow and did not seem particularly invested in going above and beyond. On multiple occasions, we requested to purchase water from the bar (which is connected to the front desk) because the water dispenser on the counter was frequently empty. However, we were directed to the vending machine while the clerk was occupied with the computer. We were disappointed to find that the breakfast had been left out at room temperature for hours before being wrapped up and placed back in the fridge. The ice bins meant to keep chilled food cold were also empty, causing the food to sweat. So, if you prefer your kefir at room temperature, this is the perfect place for you. The eggs were also consistently oily and not kept warm. Our room had a moldy smell and visible mold growth in and around the shower. The air conditioning was not very effective. The pool had a fake enclosure, which was advertised as real on the website. Some of the pool-goers needed guidance on appropriate swim attire, as the pool was being treated as an ashtray and there were beer bottles scattered around. Smoking on the emergency exit late at night was a common occurrence. Overall, our experience was not very positive...

The Catalonia Mikado is definitely worth staying at. We had an amazing stay there. The room was surprisingly spacious and well-equipped. The air conditioning was a huge bonus and made the temperature inside the room very comfortable. The cleaning staff also did a great job. They were very thorough and the room was spotless. Hernan at reception and Laura in the restaurant were so nice and accommodating. They really went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. They always had a friendly greeting and were available to assist with any need we had. We couldn't have asked for better service. Thanks to the staff at Catalonia Mikado, our stay was one to remember!

I had an amazing stay at the Catalonia Mikado! The staff were so friendly and welcoming and my room was very spacious and impeccably clean. The breakfast was delicious and had a great selection of items to choose from. We were so impressed by what this hotel had to offer that we didn't have enough time to take advantage of all the sights Barcelona had to offer, and so we will definitely be back soon!

The rooms at Catalonia Mikado are modern, comfortable and perfectly equipped. The staff was so helpful, always with a smile and they even allowed us to order pizzas to the room late at night! Breakfast was decent with varied options. The hotel's pool area is really nice and it even has a Jacuzzi where we relaxed after a long day. The only issue we experienced was a bit of noise in the morning from the hallway, probably from the cleaning staff. Nonetheless, it was an amazing stay that highly recommend!

I recently stayed at the Catalonia Mikado and was very pleased with my experience. The location was perfect - just a 10 minute walk to the main attractions of Barcelona. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Amenities were plentiful and the hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. The only downside was that I could hear my neighbours when they got too loud, but that wasn't an issue at all. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel for a solo traveler or anyone looking for a comfortable stay in Barcelona.
