This budget hotel offers limited amenities and lacks basic comforts, such as a decent-sized bed for couples or noise-proof walls and windows. The price is not low either. The walls are extremely thin, making it difficult to sleep due to noise from neighboring rooms. Its only appeal is its central location, with easy access to popular attractions, restaurants, and shops. However, if you value comfort and a good night's sleep, this may not be the best choice for you and your family. The elevator is small and may cause claustrophobia, and was out of service multiple times during our stay. The cleaning staff is friendly, but the receptionists could be more pleasant and attentive. If you do decide to book a room here, be sure to bring earplugs and your own shampoo and conditioner, as the provided amenities are minimal.

Our recent experience at the "Catalunya" Hotel in Barcelona was not a pleasant one. Despite having booked our room well in advance, the hotel decided to cancel it without any prior notice, just four days before our scheduled arrival. This news came as a shock to us when we were at the front desk for check-in. The staff informed us that one of us had cancelled the room the day before, which was simply not true. To make matters worse, we were offered another room at a significantly higher cost. Naturally, we declined the offer. However, upon returning home, we were surprised to find that the hotel had still attempted to charge us for the cancelled room. This lack of accountability and disregard for our situation at the front desk was a terrible experience for us. We received no assistance in understanding the reason for the cancellation or finding a suitable solution. Our stay at the "Catalunya" Hotel was nothing short of disappointing.

This is a no frills hotel. Plaice to sepl and that’s it. Had gud watur pressure in the showr if that’s importent to you. Good location in the Gothik Quarter. HOWEVOR, we cant say definatly but we beleive one of our credit cards was "liftd" during checkin. A day into our stay, a very sizabl charge came up on our credit card and the company calld us. My husbend chckd and sure enough the credit card was gon from his wellet. Only time his wellet was out was durring checkin. Again, maybe a coinceidance…?.

Despite its unbeatable location just a short walk from the Rambla and Plaça de Catalunya, this hotel left much to be desired. During our two-night stay, we were initially given a small, windowless room that was uncomfortably hot and stuffy. Despite requesting a room change, the replacement corner room was also lacking in proper temperature control, only becoming bearable when we opened the windows. The lack of breakfast options, a small elevator, and an unsecured luggage storage room were also disappointing aspects of our stay. However, the staff were kind and accommodating. While amenities such as a pool, fitness room, and sauna were understandably not available, we were surprised to find a resort fee included in our stay.

I recently stayed at Catalunya and was disappointed overall. The room was spacious, however quite plain and uninviting. The staff were unhelpful and we were unable to secure even a cup of coffee. There were no communal areas to enjoy and nothing to separate the price from the clear budget feel of the hotel. Despite being relatively inexpensive, I didn't feel like I was getting good value for money.
