DO Plaça Reial powered by Sonder

We stayed at a 5-star rated hotel with excellent reviews but sadly received less than a stellar experience. There were advantages like a large, comfortable room, a great location for sightseeing or heading to the beach, and staff that was knowledgeable and friendly. However, if you're a bit of a night owl, look for something else - a large plaza outside the hotel kept us up until 4AM. The included breakfast was limited to just 4 choices, while paying customers got access to the full menu. Adding to the letdown, the rooftop deck was unclean and the plunge pool was swimming with pigeons. Plus, we rarely got any service at the bar.

For our 4 night stay, staying at this hotel was really an excellent choice. The room was top-notch ?, and the staff at the reception desk were incredibly friendly and helpful. The property itself was wonderful and cozy ?, and its location was amazing - right near the heart of the Gothic Quarter with lots of magnificent attractions that could be reached by foot. Highly recommending it ?!

My stay at Sonder DO Plaça Reial was harsh and disappointing. The rooms were nice and the hotel staff were very friendly but everything was drowned out by the fact that Sonder refused to give me a direct contact number at the hotel. This made it difficult to get advice in advance and the car park they recommended was a long walk from the hotel. My wife and I had to carry all the luggage for a family of 5 in 30 degree heat for half a mile - it was a horrible experience. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone planning on driving. I will not be staying at a Sonder hotel again.

This particular accommodation has a great central location, allowing for easy exploration of the city. The receptionist was especially welcoming and friendly; their red curls adding a cheerful touch. The room was nicely themed and had plenty of amenities, such as a coffee maker. Even with some small issues with the room, they were quickly rectified.

We felt the price was too high for what was offered, especially the limited pool size. The shower was also weak and the noise of the nightlife surrounding the area was loud throughout the night, so much so that ear plugs were provided. It didn't help that a large police truck was parked outside the hotel each night. Additionally, the homeless population in the city was overwhelming and many loitered outside the front door. Breakfast downstairs was unfortunately closed, and the outside tables were plagued with cans from drunk people the night before. The servers were also dismissive and protective over seating, making it difficult to just get a drink outside the hotel. All in all, it wasn't the best experience.
