Holiday Inn Express Barcelona City 22@, an IHG Hotel

The service at this hotel was top-notch, with a lot of attention given to Elite members. While the hotel itself may not be new, the rooms were well-maintained and in excellent condition. The complimentary breakfast was extensive and even featured some local delicacies like jamon and melon. The location was slightly out of the way, though, with the exception of nearby shopping malls such as Westfield Glories (only a 10-minute walk) and Diagonal Mar (20 minutes away). To reach the city center, public transportation is necessary. Fortunately, there is a Llacuna metro station and a bus stop in close proximity. A Mercadona supermarket is conveniently located around the corner. Just a word of caution about the red switch next to the bathroom door - if turned on, it emits a bright red light that is nearly impossible to get rid of.

This hotel is centrally located and offers a high level of comfort. It exceeded the typical standards of a UK Express hotel with its spacious rooms and well-maintained shower facilities. The metro and bus services are easily accessible, with a bus stop just around the corner that takes you directly to the Sagrada Familia. The metro station is also just a few minutes' walk away. I highly recommend using the Barcelona Travel Pass for all your travel needs, as it offers great value. The breakfast buffet was quite busy, but there was a wide range of tasty dishes to choose from. Overall, this was a pleasant and convenient stay.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn Express Barcelona City 22@, an IHG Hotel during my brief visit to the city before my cruise. Even though my stay was short, the staff left a lasting impression on me with their exceptional service. They went above and beyond to assist me, especially considering the language barrier as I only speak English. Navigating a new city can be daunting, but the staff's assistance made it a breeze. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again in the future. Additionally, the location was perfect as there were great shops within walking distance, allowing me to make the most of my limited time in Barcelona. Overall, a fantastic experience that I highly recommend to any traveler.

During our recent trip to Barcelona, my family and I had a disappointing experience at the hotel we stayed at. We left a pair of trainers in our room, and upon returning later that day, were told that they were not found. I reached out to the hotel via email to inquire about the missing trainers, and the next day I received a response stating that only one trainer had been found. This left me wondering about the fate of the other shoe.

Although we continued our stay in Barcelona at a different hotel, I made a trip back to the hotel to speak with someone in person. The receptionist handed over one trainer, but offered no solution or compensation for the missing pair. She insisted that the one trainer had been left in the bin in our room, but that explanation seemed illogical to us. To put things into perspective, the trainers were only a month old and cost us £150. While it may not have been a significant loss, the way the situation was handled left us feeling disappointed and distrustful of the hotel's staff. We are all human and have likely left something behind in a hotel room before, but based on our experience, we would not trust this hotel with the return of any valuable items.

As a result, we would strongly advise against staying at this hotel and recommend looking for alternative accommodations.

At the beginning my stay got off on the wrong foot but by the end I could not have asked for a better stay in Barcelona! My special thanks goes out to Jordi for the wonderful greeting and the amazing care he provided until the moment we checked out. Mariana also needs a big thank you for taking care of us as soon as she became aware of the issue. Moreover, Carme Trullols was simply the best! La Zorra was just as enjoyable as Carme said it would be. Last but not least, I also want to thank the entire staff we met from housekeeping to the morning breakfast restaurant. Even though I made an honest mistake with my reservation that was completely my fault, the team did everything within its power to take care of us. We cannot thank you enough.
