We just stopped for one night to have a good rest arriving at 3am during the night. The 24hr receptionist was friendly and efficient with check-in. The rooms were basic, but had a modern bathroom and were clean. Breakfast was enough to get you going with a moderate price. The tiny elevator wasn't the best, making it difficult to use at peak times, and lockers were available for a low price, though two small pieces of luggage fit in each. All in all, the stay met expectations and was a positive experience.

My stay at Hostal Barcelona was far from satisfactory. The room was ok, however, there were insufficient pillows and mirrors. Furthermore, there was no coffee or tea making amenities provided. It was very noisy at night and in the morning, and the walls were so thin we could hear everything next door and upstairs. On top of that, the staff were extraordinarily unfriendly and unhelpful, and for these reasons I would not advise others to stay at Hostal Barcelona and will certainly never be returning.

This was our first girls holiday and we weren't expecting a 5 star hotel, but what we got was not what we expected. Our room was dirty, with hairs all over the bed, plaster hanging off the wall and mystery stains. We asked to speak to the manager for 2 days, but she was only available for 3 hours a day – in the middle of the day when we were out sightseeing. Finally, I was able to speak to her over the phone and she offered us a 1 night refund and to be moved to a better room. However, as we had stayed for 2 nights we asked for a 2 night refund and got a curt response to leave the hotel right away if we wanted a full refund. We had to leave the hotel and were 3 18 year old girls out on the street trying to find a new hotel. The staff, apart from the manager, were very helpful and tried their best to assist us. The next hotel we stayed at was a world apart from this one - it was lovely. We would advise not to stay here.

This hotel is in a great location for a great price, ? plus, free WiFi ?. Everything was clean and tidy, however the room was quite small. The bathroom was smaller than a phone booth and you couldn't turn around while showering without getting out! ? There wasn't even a window there. Plus, the room overlooked a light shaft. One thing that was ? unacceptable, the hotel was often booked by school classes and youth groups, i.e. Radau all night. ?‍♀️ Breakfast was horrible, especially the coffee. ? Overall, I would only recommend this place to those on the lowest of budgets ?.

My stay at this particular hotel was a last minute decision when I found out I wasn't able to get back at night from my original trip destination. With the promise of decent photos on the website, I went for it despite some reviews being questionable. Upon arrival I was immediately overwhelmed by how tiny my room on the top floor was. Everything was a squeeze, there was an odd smell in the air, and the headboard was sticky every time I leaned against it. The beds were passable, but an extra pillow would've been nice. The decor was dated, but I heard staff working on it in other rooms, although the walls were paper thin so I could hear all the banging, drilling, and conversations down the hall. The bathroom was even worse. I'm not a large person, but due to the sink in the way, I had to open the door to sit on the toilet. And the shower was barely functional, taking ages to get lukewarm. No shower gel or shampoo either, only hand soap. The view from the window wasn't great either, but I guess you get what you pay for. The staff unfortunately didn't speak much English, and they weren't the friendliest people either. Would I ever stay here again? No, although it was very convenient for my one night stay and was a great location near the coast and plenty of places to eat and drink.
