The staff member at the front desk was pleasant, however, the room itself did not meet my expectations. The mattress was worn out, the room was very cramped, there was an unpleasant odor outside the window, and the shower drain was clogged. Additionally, there was a lot of noise coming from the corridor. I would not suggest staying here again.
The location of this hotel is perfect - only a short stroll away from Sagrada Familia and Grazia. The downside was that the room didn't have a proper window, just a view onto an internal hallway. The air was quite stuffy and the walls were very thin, meaning we could clearly hear music and TV from the other rooms. The hotel itself lacks character, however they make up for this with a great price. A very average and forgettable experience.
This accommodation is in an old Spanish building divided between two floors. The individual rooms come with a bed, desk, TV, sink, and dresser and fresh sheets and towels are provided daily. There is one bathroom per floor plus a facility to fill up water bottles since you can't use the sink. My stay here was good on the whole, though there wasn't enough ventilation in the room to make it comfortable, despite the window. Nevertheless, the location is fantastic: you can reach the Sagrada Familia on foot, and many other places are nearby.
I booked for 5 nights, but after 3 of them, I was exhausted. There is literally no escape from the noise as it's impossible to not hear anything: guests coming and going, using the bathroom and showering at odd hours, watching movies on their phones in their rooms - it goes on. And that's with ear plugs in. The building has no heating, so take care if you're visiting in winter. And no kitchen either - no preparing meals or borrowing a plate. There's a hot water machine on one floor, but it's locked when it gets dark, so if you've the misfortune to be in a different one, you can't even get a hot drink in the night. For the price, you won't be getting any rest.
I had an awful experience at the Hostal Felipe 2 in Barcelona. A person was harassing the other tenants, screaming the entire night and ruining everyone's restful sleep; however, the hostel did nothing to address the situation, nor did they offer to return our money. Do not stay here if you want to feel comfortable and safe.
