This was my first time travelling alone and it didn't start well. The taxi driver couldn't find the address and it took us circling the block twice to realise it was a small plaque on the side of the doorway. I was apprehensive but a young man showed me in and up the stairs to the elevator. It was bright and white inside, but it was clear this wasn't the hotel I had booked. The room was clean, but instead of the lush green trees shown on the booking site, it overlooked a dingy alleyway. The walls were made of particle board and I could hear my neighbours talking. It was like a youth hostel with shared amenities, but charging hotel prices. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed and I left immediately, unable to get a refund. If you're looking for a hostel experience then this might work for you, but if you expect a hotel then you should be aware.
