I recently stayed in a hotel in Barcelona with a group of friends. Overall, I would not rate it as a 4-star accommodation. The guestroom was clean and adequate, but a bit dated. Unfortunately, the insulation was not good, as we could hear our neighbors. Breakfast was okay, but it stayed the same every day. There was no hot drink available during the evening or day, which was a bit of a let-down. When we asked if we could get some hot water for a sick friend, the staff seemed rather disinterested. For the most part, the staff were friendlier, apart from the one person working during the evening. There were not many facilities, so it was more of a basic hostel near the station. One word of caution: watch out for the bathroom stools!
Stayed at Hotel Abbot and it was an ideal choice for me since I needed to be close to Sants station. Reception was great and they welcomed me even after I checked in late. The room was clean and basic and I had all I needed for my one night stop over. Would recommend this place if you're after a short-term stay.
I stayed at the Hotel Abbot for two nights and the experience was very pleasant. The room was clean and just the right size; we had room 307. The bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of wardrobe space. The bathroom was a bit small, however the shower was nice and hot - and the hotel provided shower gel, shampoo, and body lotion, as well as an hairdryer. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself is a short walk from the metro, which is quite easy to use. I would certainly recommend staying at the Hotel Abbot.
We spent a weekend at Hotel Abbot and were very pleased with our choice. The location was ideal, only a few minutes away from the Metro station Sants. The room, located on the third floor, was quiet and clean with a functioning air conditioning that was able to cool the room down accordingly after some adjustments. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good considering the price of 9 € per person. Although the look of the hotel wasn't particularly fancy, we would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a good location.
On arrival the staff were friendly and helpful, but when I experienced problems with the air conditioning in my room later on in the evening, I was left feeling frustrated. Despite it being a balmy 20 degrees outside and 25 degrees inside my room, I was told that the air conditioning wasn't working because the weather was too cool for it to kick in. I asked about a fan or a room that was cooler and neither were available. When I asked if I could speak to the manager, I was told to wait until the next day - even though I was leaving. It felt like they simply weren't prepared to give customer service. For 137 euros a night, I'd expect more than this. It was especially disappointing given their 4 star rating. Won't be returning.
