Regrettably, a comment like this has to be done to avoid similar issues. The good thing is that the room and the hotel in general are quite clean and modern. That would usually be enough for us to give a good recommendation, but keep reading.... If you decide to stay, do NOT book the mini room. I have never felt that uncomfortable in a hotel room before. I have already stayed in pretty small places in NYC, but this one takes it to a new level. The bed was super tiny and located right up against a wall. If you are travelling with your partner, one of you will have to climb over the other. Also, if you have luggage with you, that will take away all the available floor space, it’s literally impossible. We were astonished by the unusual triangular shape of the room which made everything sort of awkward. You couldn’t even turn around in the shower without talking a wall. It was also a challenge to just get into the bathroom, and I am not a tall person. If you happen to be a bit bigger or need more room for a walker or a wheelchair, this room is not suitable for you. That wasn’t the only thing that made us feel uncomfortable. The ventilation system was blowing the outside odour into the room. Considering that the room was quite small, this became a bit of an issue. I am also not sure if there was a shortage of toilet paper, but we had to ask for it twice. Each day when the room was tidied up, no extra toilet paper was added even though we still had two nights left to stay. All in all, we didn’t look forward to coming back to our room and we never got a good night's sleep. Therefore, this room shouldn’t be an option for anyone who is travelling with their partner. However, if you choose one of the larger rooms, you might have a completely different experience, compared to ours. On a brighter note, the breakfast was alright and it was conveniently located. The area around the hotel seemed safe enough. There were plenty of tourist attractions nearby and all of them you can easily get to on foot or by cab.
A two-night stay I recently had was simply amazing! Despite its simplistic decor, this accommodation offers all the essentials for a great stay: clean rooms, comfortable beds, hot showers, and soundproof walls. As someone who is petite in size, the room and bathroom were more than enough for me, but this might not be suitable for bigger persons. Though it is located on Gran Via – a very busy commercial street – I was fortunate enough not to hear any noise. The location of the hotel is superb, near Plaza Espana and Mount Juic park. This makes it a perfect choice for those who just want a clean, comfy, and peaceful place to stay after a long day of sightseeing. I have no doubt I would stay here again if my paths take me back to this amazing city!
The hotel was only a short walk away from all the attractions near Plaza de Espagnia; absolutely perfect for someone like me who wanted to make the most of the city on a short visit. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful and even provided me with maps and advice on the best places to visit. The rooms were small, but really cozy and tastefully decorated - very minimalistic, just how I like it. Everything was super clean and had all the amenities you could ask for, making it even more of a pleasure to stay here. The WiFi was also great, no connection issues whatsoever. All in all, I had a great stay and I would definitely recommend Hotel Brick Barcelona to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.
I recently stayed at Hotel Brick Barcelona and absolutely loved it! It's in a great location, just a 2 minute walk from Placa Espanya and all the major transport options. The rooms were small but well-appointed, with comfortable beds and everything we needed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and made us feel right at home. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and we'll definitely be back again soon!
But it wasn't.
I had read other mixed reviews about the Brick Hotel, but decided to give it a shot. I'm sorry I did. We had a terrible stay, so much so that we took the hit of losing our deposit by checking out a day early. We had some interesting encounters with the staff. The receptionist was lovely, but the lady manager behind reception was abrupt and unhelpful.
On the whole, I have to say our stay at the Brick Hotel was more than disappointing. We were cramped, uncomfortable and overcharged. If I had read a review like this before we booked, I'm certain we'd have chosen somewhere else to stay. My advice to others would be to save your money and look elsewhere.
