I recently stayed at the Coronado for a short holiday and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this budget hotel! Its location is unbeatable - just two minutes from Parallel metro station and a 10 minute walk from La Rambla. The room was basic, but it had all the essentials - a comfortable bed, shower, wardrobe, and a HDTV with plenty of Spanish and Catalan channels, as well as DMax in English. The shower was hot and the room was sparklingly clean with the bed made each day. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and everything went smooth. There's only one thing I would add to the room - a bedside chest of drawers to better store my clothes - but that's a pretty minor detail. I definitely recommend Coronado and I'm looking forward to booking it again on my next visit to Barcelona.

This wasn't our best hotel experience, but overall, it wasn't terrible either. We stayed at Coronado for three nights and found that the staff were nice and helpful. Contrary to many other reviews, the room was actually clean, but with dated furniture. All the sheets and towels were replaced daily. We asked for a room with two adults and one child, but upon arrival, there wasn't a bed for our 5-year-old son. We had to insist on them bringing a portable bed, and it ended up taking up most of the space in the room! The room was quite noisy, even though it was on the fourth floor and the windows were double glazed. Unfortunately, there wasn't parking available at the hotel but there was a nearby paid lot for 13-12€ per day. The one good thing about this place was its location. It was very close to the Montjuic Park and the Parallel Metro station, so it was easy to get around. The price was also reasonable and the area was filled with great restaurants. So even though it wasn't the most pleasant experience, the stay was still manageable.
The hotel doesn't offer breakfast, still uses a metal key that has to be left in the lobby (!) and the staff was not very friendly. The bed was uncomfortable and the smell of the bed covers was horrible. The bathroom was ok but very basic. The rooms were very dark and not exactly pleasant. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and if you book through edreams.com you can't even review your stay to inform others of how bad it was. Please don't stay here.
