I had a pleasant stay at this hotel, located in a great area. The staff at the reception were very friendly and accommodating, and the room staff were very attentive. The breakfast wasn't worth the fare, but there were some good points. The drinks in the mini bar of the junior suite were advertised as free of charge, however, they weren't replenished after the first night. It was disappointing that there were no umbrellas available, given the city's propensity for rain. The linens were not up to the standard you'd expect from a 4-star hotel either. All in all, it wasn't a bad stay, but with a few minor improvements, it could really be great.
My wife and I had a great stay at this establishment. Checking in was smooth and effortless. We were given a room on the second floor. It was large and pristinely kept. The personnel were very helpful when asked for assistance. The only downside we noticed was the distance from the downtown area - still, a metro station is nearby (though we didn't use it) and the hop-on/hop-off bus is available. All in all, we'd recommend this place without hesitation.
I had the pleasure of staying at Ayre Hotel Gran Vía and I was truly in love with this place! The staff were amazingly friendly, the decor was chic and modern, the rooms were spacious and well appointed, and the bathrooms were equipped with all that I needed. The service levels offered by all the staff were excellent; I was even given a free welcome drink and snacks! In addition, the fridge was stocked daily with water which was a nice bonus. The breakfast was excellent, too! Plus, it's conveniently located just minutes away from a shopping centre, the metro, and an airport bus. I highly recommend this hotel; it's one of the best I've ever stayed in!
a place to sleep.
The location of the Ayre Hotel Gran Vía was good for its proximity to the Spanish square, however there were some downsides. Although the room was clean and the breakfast decent, the bed was not very comfy. If you're looking for a view of the square, you won't find it here. The mini bar only had a small bottle of water, and the hotel bar was closed for New Year's Eve, without any other access to rooftop drinks. We were lucky to find a spot in a near by bar, but it was hard with no reservation. The fan in the room was incredibly loud and it was impossible to sleep with it on, and even opening the window was not an option due to the street noise, and it was too warm in the room to sleep comfortably in December. The TV didn't work on the upper floors, and the wi-fi was unreliable, cutting out every two minutes. This hotel was just a place to sleep and not for any luxurious NYE!
We had a wonderful time at Ayre Hotel Gran Vía. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. The Wifi connection was strong and free, which was great for us. The location of the hotel was unbeatable - just 2 minutes from Placa Espanya. On Thursday evenings there was a live performance with a local singer, which we particularly enjoyed. As a special surprise, the hotel gave us two free drink vouchers to use at the bar, so we could choose between alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. As a nice gesture, water in the minibar was free of charge. We had an unforgettable stay and would highly recommend it!
