I stayed at Hotel Pelayo for three nights while in Barcelona and can definitely recommend it. The location is excellent as it is close to the metro and is only a few minutes' walk to La Rambla and Catalunya square. The room was small but surprisingly comfortable, with a soft bed that I had no trouble sleeping in. The staff was friendly and attentive, always willing to answer my questions. The walls are a bit thin, so the noise from people walking down the halls is audible but didn't bother me. I could also hear the trains in the metro below, but the noise was nothing more than a faint rattle. All-in-all, a great place to stay in Barcelona, and one I would recommend and stay in again for sure.
