The situation may not be ideal, being quite removed from the popular Barcelona tourist destinations, though the city's transportation system does help to alleviate this. Despite the small size, the guestrooms have been thoughtfully designed. Breakfast is particularly solid, and it's perfect for families.
The staff were so welcoming and kind, the breakfast was great and very reasonably priced. My only issue was that there wasno safe box available. The room was also not particularly clean, but I would still suggest this hotel for a short stay in Barcelona.
I'm never staying at the Ibis Barcelona Meridiana again. It was a terrible experience. From the beginning, the customer service was awful. The wifi connection was non-existent, the air conditioning was very loud, not permitting a good night's sleep. Forget about getting a complimentary bottle of water - there wasn't even any shampoo. The room was old and dirty, the towels were too worn, and the photos on the hotel website were nothing like what we experienced. It's even worse when they raised our payment from £332.80 to £355.07 and simply refused to explain why. To make matters worse, the lobby was disgusting and the hallway to our room smelt horrible. Not to mention their disregard for our complaints. I would have given them zero stars if possible. Overall, it was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Do not make the same mistake I did, stay away from the Ibis Barcelona Meridiana.
We had a great stay at Ibis Barcelona Meridiana - our room was spotless and the AC worked perfectly. The beds were very comfortable and the reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast wasn't as varied as we would have liked, just cold meats and pastries, so could have been better if there had been some warm cooked items. But overall, our stay was very pleasant and I would definitely stay here again.
I felt very uncomfortable.
I stayed at Ibis Barcelona Meridiana recently and had a mix of experiences. The room was clean, the staff friendly at all times, but the distance from the centre was a bit of a letdown. The keycards to our room were not working properly for three of the four days we stayed and it was inconvenient to have to go down to the reception every time. On 24/3 at 15:30, I returned to the hotel feeling unwell and needed to use the bathroom urgently. However, the keycard was not working again, so I went to the reception where I was met by a male receptionist who was already speaking to other customers. I asked him if I could get a new keycard since it was urgent, but he told me to wait my turn and when I protested, he yelled at me and pointed his finger. Needless to say, I felt very uncomfortable. All in all, I can only recommend the hotel with a reservation.
