I stayed in a 12 bed mixed dorm, which was way too small for that many beds - it should not have more than 8. On top of that, it was stuffy, making it hard to sleep. The bunks were solid and comfortable though, and they had blackout curtains. The lockers were large and heavy, but many of them weren't on wheels, which made them very noisy and difficult to move. The room I was assigned was in a dark corner, so I asked to move to a lower bunk. Despite my many years of travelling, I had never been in a situation where changing accommodation was such a hassle. I eventually had to check out, store my luggage, and then check in again. To add to the already stressful situation, I got locked in the bathroom when the lock broke off the door. On the bright side, the hostel was conveniently located and the patio and kitchen area were great spaces. Furthermore, the breakfast deal with the nearby juicery was definitely worth it. In conclusion, this place doesn't get a second chance from me.
I stayed at The Loft Hostel for 3 nights in a dorm with 8 beds. When I arrived at the reception, no one was there, so I had to call and wait for 35 minutes for someone to show up. Unfortunately, the receptionist couldn't find my booking, despite me presenting them with my confirmation. He wanted me to do a new reservation at a higher rate than what I was originally confirmed. After about an hour, he finally told me that I could get a 10 bed dorm instead, and that the room wasn't full. I made my bed and went out for the evening. When I returned at around 23:20, I was shocked to find a big rat in the dorm - an indication that there could be more than one, and they had been there for a while. I was quickly moved to another dorm on the same ground floor. I will be seeking a refund for the next two nights and moving elsewhere.
This hostel was far from satisfactory. The showers had minimal hot water, the receptionist did not speak English and the reception area was often unmanned. Furthermore, there was an additional charge for check-in after 8pm, which had to be paid in cash, whereas the other accommodation payments could be made by card. There was no evidence of a coronavirus check and not even towels were provided. The lockers in the room were not working and the kitchen was not well-equipped. Unfortunately, this hostel did not live up to its description on the website.
3 night stay, be warned that charged €5 each for late check in! This place had modern and clean decor. Staff were friendly and helpful. However, I wouldn't suggest it for solo travelers - it was quite unsocial. The terrace was a great outdoor space and the location was close to most tourist sites and restaurants. It's a great spot for groups to stay, however, I would note that the kitchen equipment is limited (3 cups for the whole hostel).
This place expects you to pay 5 euro for arriving after 10pm, which I find absurd. This is a hostel, people travel from long distances and delays happen. Most hostels have someone at the front desk 24/7, but this one wants you to pay for the button to be pressed that allows you to enter. Not cool. They just care about getting more money out of you. Avoid this place at all costs! I've been to many hostels, and this is the only one that charges for after 10pm entry after a long day of travelling. Go to a hostel that won't rip you off!
