I recently stayed at the "Moderno" Hotel in Barcelona and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the location was excellent - just a minute away from the underground station and a 10 minute walk to the Placa de Catalunya station, which provided easy access to various modes of transportation including the underground, overground, bus, and airport bus.

Upon arrival, I found my room to be clean and well-maintained. The staff at the hotel were also friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I appreciated the option to leave my baggage after checking out and the complimentary wifi was a nice touch. Additionally, having a safe in the room added an extra layer of security.

However, there were a few downsides as well. Despite trying to adjust the thermostat, the air conditioning in my room was not very effective and the room ended up feeling too warm. Furthermore, the fake window in my room did not provide any outside view but rather allowed noise from other guests to filter in. In addition, the bathroom floor was in poor condition, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable.

In terms of suggestions, I would recommend adding a handrail in the bathroom as the bathtub can be slippery and potentially dangerous. I also believe that replacing the sheet of glass covering only half of the bathtub with a curtain rail could prevent water from splashing onto the bathroom floor.

Overall, my stay at the "Moderno" Hotel had its ups and downs, but the convenient location and friendly staff made up for some of the shortcomings. With a few improvements, this could be a great option for future travelers.

Our accommodation was in a grate central location. A couple of steps of Las Rambla. We walked everywhere in the city and despite multipul warnings of wacthing my bag ect we felt safe day and nite around the hotel. Glad of a street facing room because we liked wacthing the goings on but as with city life it was nosey all nite at weekend- but that's why we chosse central! Room on the basic side but fine. No kettle but large cold fridge. Roof terace was fab! We took our own drinks up evry nite and wacthed the sun go down As for staff they were wandelful! Lend us an umbrela 2 days when it looked like rain and most importently my husbend left his wallet in the room. They rang and emailed instently. I gave our addres and as we had 3 nites in Mallorca the wallet beat us home!! Cant bilieve they were so kind and effishent. Thanks so much!!! 5* service….

The accommodations were adequate and comfortable, the location was ideal, and the staff were welcoming and accommodating. My room, while small, did have a view, although the scenery of the opposite side of the street was not particularly noteworthy. The decor was simple but not unpleasant, with charming vintage photographs of 1920s and 1930s Barcelona. The amenities were minimal, including a bed, desk, TV, small fridge, and wardrobe, but the bed itself was cozy and the bathroom was a suitable size for one person and well-maintained. One minor drawback was the noise from both the bustling street and the hotel's air conditioning and plumbing. However, the hotel's prime location more than made up for this inconvenience. Just a few steps outside the door, you'll find yourself on the famous Las Ramblas. A short walk away is the opera house and its corresponding metro station, and across the street is the charming Bari Gotic district. The Mercado de Bocqueria and Palau Guell are within a five-minute walk, and Place de Catalunya and the waterfront are just a quick ten-minute stroll away. While the popular attractions such as the Sagrada Familia and Park Guell may require a short trip by metro or bus, the cathedral is conveniently close by. Additionally, the entire staff, including the receptionists and cleaners, were exceptionally kind and helpful in all of my interactions with them.

I had an amazing stay at Moderno. The hotel is situated in the perfect location - near the main monuments and the beach, making it so easy to explore the city center. Furthermore, it is just a hop away from the Liceu and Placa Catalunya subway stops. The breakfast was delicious and all the rooms were spotlessly clean. The rooftop terrace provided beautiful views of the old town and the staff were incredibly helpful. I truly have no complaints, I would definitely stay here again!

I had an amazing stay at Moderno! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make sure I had a great time. The hotel location is ideal, with great access to las Ramblas and the market. My room was solo size, but still spacious enough for me to be comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and varied, too! The icing on the cake was the gorgeous rooftop deck - even with the mild weather, it offered the perfect spot to relax and unwind after a long day of sightseeing. Highly recommended!
