Paraiso Hostel

Nowhere was standing out for me when searching hostels in Barcelona, but my girlfriend recommended this one, where she had stayed before, so we booked a few nights at €15ish a night. The 24-hour reception was convenient when we arrived late from our flight to Girona, though the kitchen and common room had already closed. On our second night, the staff were kind enough to let us into the kitchen to get Sangria and drink it in the stairwell without bothering anyone. The beds had charge sockets and shelves, while the staff were friendly. Unfortunately, they don't tell you about the tourist tax which isn't included in the price. The location is great - a few blocks away from the Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter, and a five minute walk from the metro station. The only thing is that the check-out time is too early, which is why we had to nap in the common area the morning we were leaving despite the children running and screaming around. It would be nice if the hostel did something about this.

I had a great time at this accommodation. The rooms were spotless, there was no need to wait for the bathroom, and the area was great. Moreover, the personnel were super friendly and accommodating. The only downside was that the area could get a bit loud at night.

I know the saying is “you get what you pay for” but no matter how cheap a cost, I expect to be able to sleep if I’m paying for a room. First of all, when we arrived we were told that the place was being renovated?, which meant that from 9am until 7pm there was constant hammering right outside of our room every day?. On top of this there were slamming doors every few minutes all through the night?. The room itself was nice ?, it’s just a shame I couldn’t enjoy it ?‍♀️.

We had a wonderful experience staying at this hostel, especially with the friendly receptionist, Sophia. She was so cheerful and helpful, always going out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. The toilets were clean, the location was great and the room was spotless. All the staff were extremely helpful, available 24/7.

This accommodation is well managed, efficient and very clean with comfortable mattresses and sheets plus sparkling clean bathrooms. Bedrooms come with a TV too. There is plenty of hot water. Guests can use the communal kitchen which is equipped with a modern electric stove and a large fridge. The staff is friendly and helpful, with 24 hour attendance. The hostel is located on the first floor, with a lift. Access to the street is via a secure door. The highlight of this place must be the lovely garden on the terrace. It's the perfect spot to eat, drink and chat. One can also dry their laundry there in the undercover area. The vicinity is filled with cafes, inexpensive eateries, and food shops. This hostel has earned a high rating and is a great choice.
