During my recent trip to Barcelona for the Half Marathon, I had the pleasure of staying at a hotel that was conveniently located just 100 meters from the start line. Situated in the charming Gothic district, the hotel was surrounded by a variety of bars and restaurants to suit every taste. From the moment I checked in until I left, I received exceptional service. The rooms were both clean and modern, equipped with a complimentary fridge and safe. I also appreciated the attached bar, which offered reasonably priced drinks. I can't wait to come back and stay at this wonderful hotel with its friendly staff once again.

During my recent stay in Barcelona, I was impressed by the cleanliness, comfort, and warm hospitality of the hotel. The bed was especially cozy, and I appreciated the option to choose from different types of pillows. The shower was also top-notch, providing a refreshing experience. The hotel's location was ideal, as it was close to the Gothic Quarter and just a short distance from Las Ramblas and the beach. I was pleased with the variety of restaurants and breakfast spots nearby, making it easy to find delicious meals. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel, as it provided great value for the price.

The initial part of my stay was not ideal. Upon arrival, I was informed that my room was not yet available, which was not a major issue. However, I was surprised to find out that I could not leave my bags at the reception until the room was ready. Apparently, this service is only available during checkout and not check-in - quite odd, right? As a result, I had to keep an eye on my belongings in the lobby for 2 hours until my room was finally ready. The room itself was of satisfactory size, but the strong smell of cigarette smoke was quite off-putting. On the bright side, the mattress and bedding were comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located near the train station and within walking distance to the old town and popular tourist attractions.

Unfortunately, my experience at the Park Hotel in Barcelona was extremely disappointing. I was charged an extra €180.50 on my bill, which was not mentioned to me upon arrival. I later discovered that I had been mistakenly booked for two rooms for the first night of my stay, even though I was traveling alone. When I went to reception to inquire about the charge, I was told that it was my fault and that I would not be receiving a refund. The man at the front desk even hung up on me when I asked to speak to a manager. This left me feeling frustrated and taken advantage of.

The issues did not stop there. The smell in my room was so unbearable on one occasion that I couldn't even enter it. The odor was so strong that it filled the entire fifth floor hallway. The cleaners who were present can attest to this and had to open the windows in my room to try and dissipate the putrid smell. Needless to say, this was an unpleasant experience that I never want to go through again.

In addition to the poor service and unexpected charges, I also did not find the hotel to be up to par with the price I paid. I was supposed to pay €1071 for my seven-night stay, but ended up paying a total of €1281.21. I feel completely ripped off and would not recommend this place to anyone. Despite trying to resolve the issue, I have been met with dismissive and unhelpful responses from the staff. Needless to say, I will never be staying at this hotel again.
