Wonderful place to stay close to the L2 line! The staff made me feel right at home, and I'm looking forward to coming back soon. The bunk beds in the four person room were surprisingly comfortable, and there was a fantastic patio to have coffee on, plus a communal kitchen to use. I highly recommend this place!
Staying at this place wasn't the best experience? While the male staff members were ?friendly, the female staff were quite off-putting?. The main issue was that the air conditioning units were never turned on in the common bunk beds room, making it stuffy and unpleasant. Plus, they didn't stock the coffee and tea?. The only good thing was the nice outdoor terrace?. ?So, overall, not the best stay?.
This accommodation has a great location; it is within walking distance (10-15 minutes with luggage) of the very central Plaça de Catalunya, a convenient spot to come and go from the airport, and is also served by multiple metro lines. You can easily reach popular spots such as the Sagrada Familia, the Rambla, the Parc de la Ciutadella / Arc de Triomf, and the El Born-Barri Gòtic - El Raval neighbourhoods. The hostel does not stand out from the street; you need to ring the reception which is open 24/7 near the Desigual store. The area is filled with small bars and restaurants, as well as supermarkets and shops; making it easy to pick up food or useful items. Inside the hostel, many of the original features have been preserved, such as the stained glass windows, the colourful tiles, and a terrace. There is a common kitchen, washrooms, showers, and a hall to relax, read, and play games with other guests and staff. It is accessible for those with disabilities and is located on the first floor of the building. The bed rooms are equipped with "capsuled" bunk beds with lamps, sockets, and shelves for personal items and lockable chests for suitcases. The dorms have fans and windows that open, but there is no space to dry clothes in the room; it must be done on the terrace. There is an easy code to enter the rooms. One of the issues I noticed with my bed was the handle that was not secure enough. The place was slightly cramped, making it difficult in case many people were to use the same areas at once, and it was quite dark. Mask policy was not followed properly as indicated, and there can be a wait to get into the hostel. The staff is friendly and helpful, though a printer would be useful.
When I had to unexpectedly change my travel plans, I found myself in need of accommodations in Barcelona. Fortunately, I came across a place to stay where the staff, notably Paulina and Marco, went above and beyond. The security of the facility is top notch, as you must ring the bell to enter the building and each dorm room has an individual code for access. It's in a quiet location yet it's still central enough that you can easily walk to all the bars, shopping, restaurants, etc. The communal areas are cozy and there's a large outdoor terrace. The dorm rooms have privacy curtains, large windows and a fan. The shared bathrooms and toilets are kept clean at all times. I had all I needed for a safe, comfortable stay. Marco provided great recommendations and information and Paulina made the check-in process smooth. All in all I had an amazing experience!
The staff at this hostel were absolutely amazing - their helpfulness and enthusiasm really made my stay. The hostel was located in an ideal spot in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore. Although the accommodation was of a decent standard, I was disappointed by the cost - I found a much more luxurious hotel for only a few pounds more. Unfortunately, the dorms did not have any ventilation and I was unfortunate enough to have to endure a few noisy guests during my stay.
