For anyone traveling to Barcelona, I highly recommend staying at this hostel. It caters to both solo travelers and groups, offering a wide range of free activities. The cleanliness is top-notch, with several thorough cleanings throughout the day. Plus, if you happen to be staying at the bar, they offer special discounts. However, the best part of my stay was the incredibly friendly staff. They all speak fluent English and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. I want to give a special shoutout to three individuals who made my time here even more memorable: one of the receptionists, Denisse, is hands down one of the kindest people I've met. She always has a smile on her face and is more than happy to answer any questions or give great recommendations about Barcelona. Lina, who organizes tours and parties, is always up for a good joke and makes sure everyone feels included. She also has extensive knowledge about lesser-known spots in the city. And lastly, Olga, who led the tour of Sagrada Familia, was the most thorough guide I've ever had. She knows the history and significance behind every single stone of the building, giving me a new appreciation for Gaudi's work. Without a doubt, my experience at this hostel was made extra special thanks to these amazing staff members.
My overall experience was extremely disappointing. The staff were aggressive and rude, solely focused on making money. The rooms were cramped, lacking air conditioning and unpleasantly dirty. The constant smell was unbearable. To make matters worse, there were drunken guests roaming the hallways at night with no intervention from the staff. I strongly advise against staying here, especially if you are traveling in a group. We felt unwelcome and treated poorly throughout our three-day stay. Sadly, our experience was not unique as the locals in Barcelona were also not friendly or welcoming.
This accommodation was quite lovely, with a sleek and tidy design. The reception gathering was a fantastic opportunity to socialize, and the fare and beverages at the establishment were delectable and reasonably priced. It had a friendly atmosphere, yet also provided a peaceful stay. Additionally, the placement was highly advantageous being situated adjacent to Plaça de Catalunya.
Our experience at this accommodation was not pleasant, to say the least. Our sleep was continuously interrupted by the constant coming and going of people in the room, which went on until the early hours of the morning. To make matters worse, the automatic lights would turn on every time someone opened the door. The rooms were not up to standard and had the typical atmosphere of a party hostel - unkempt, stuffy and unpleasant. The reception staff, particularly one male worker, were condescending and impolite, making it apparent that customer service was not their forte. In addition, the security guards were unwelcoming and discourteous. The shared showers and toilets were in a poor state and clearly not well-maintained. My advice would be to avoid this hostel and explore other options in Barcelona. Don't let your stay be tarnished by this experience.
I had an absolutely wonderful stay in Barcelona and I am so grateful to have stayed in this hostel. The position of the hostel was really great and the beds were really comfortable as well as the bathrooms were spotless. The curtains provided essential privacy in the 12 bed dormitory. Every night there were social gatherings that made it easy to meet people. I would suggest this place to anyone travelling alone.
