Catalonia Port
About
Clean and modern decoration
At the port, in the Gothic quarter not far from Las Ramblas, this new and little 41 room hotel is very pleasant. Clean and modern decoration, large and silent rooms with large beds, a roof pool and solarium. We appreciate the friendly and efficient personnel, and we love its strategic location to visit the city without too long walks...
Catalonia Port is about 250 metres from the bottom of the famous Las Ramblas, and Port Vell Harbour is only 400 metres away. Drassanes Metro Station is a 5-minute walk away.<a class="twitter-timeline" data-width="600" data-height="600" href="https://twitter.com/CataloniaHotels?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">Tweets by CataloniaHotels</a> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Our one night stay here was a wonderful addition to our trip to Barcelona. The hotel is perfectly located and has a modern aesthetic. We arrived early, but were welcomed with drinks and informed that our room would be ready in 20-30 minutes. The check-in process was efficient and all details were clearly explained. Our triple room on the third floor (306) had a lovely view of the pool. The room was spacious and the bathroom was well-appointed, though we did miss having a lock on the bathroom door. The towels and toiletries provided were of good quality and the bed was comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. Despite its central location, we experienced no disturbance from street noise. Surrounding the hotel, there are many options for dining and a nearby supermarket. For breakfast, we simply headed down to the hotel's restaurant where the staff was once again attentive and the food selection and presentation were both impressive. Fresh coffee, juices, and smoothies were available, as well as a variety of cereals, yogurts, cold meats and cheeses, and fresh bread. We also appreciated the delicious hot options. Upon check-in, we were given the opportunity to sign up for a free account that provided a discount on breakfast – definitely worth taking advantage of. Our interactions with the staff were all positive, particularly Christina who was incredibly helpful, though all the staff were excellent. If you're searching for a top-notch accommodation in Barcelona, look no further.
Unfortunately, our experience at the hotel was not a positive one. We had made a reservation for our conference, but due to a change in dates, we requested to change our reservation. However, despite our booking being non-refundable, the hotel refused to assist us in any way. As someone who frequently travels for business, I have never encountered a hotel that was so unwilling to help. We simply wanted to adjust the dates by one week and were even willing to pay the difference for the new dates. Despite our refusal, we decided to keep the original booking, which resulted in the same person who initially refused to help, Victor, continuously calling both my phone and my PA's phone to inquire about our check-in status. It was clear that he was more concerned about trying to rent the room again and make a profit rather than supporting a small business and assisting genuine customers. This type of behavior is unacceptable and made our experience at the hotel even more unpleasant. There are many other hotels in Barcelona that value and appreciate their customers, so I would highly recommend avoiding this particular one.
Our recent stay in Barcelona was made even more enjoyable by the understated gem of a hotel we chose. While our travel exhaustion prevented us from taking advantage of all the amenities offered, such as the pool and gym, colleagues raved about the delicious breakfast served. Although our visit was only for one night before our cruise, I plan on returning for a longer stay in the future.
The reception staff at Catalonia Port Hotel truly went above and beyond to make our stay a positive experience. Despite a reservation mix-up with a secondary site, they quickly found us alternative accommodations at another nearby hotel in the same chain and even covered the cost of our taxi. The replacement hotel was just as charming and to make up for any inconvenience, we were offered a complimentary breakfast. Throughout the entire ordeal, the front staff at Catalonia Port remained incredibly helpful and friendly. To our surprise, we also discovered that my husband had left his expensive prescription sunglasses in the taxi. However, the amazing staff at the hotel took care of everything and had the sunglasses delivered to our home in the USA via Fed Ex. They handled these potential problems with utmost professionalism and kindness. We cannot thank them enough for turning what could have been a negative experience into a memorable one. A sincere and heartfelt thank you to the entire team at Catalonia Port.
The accommodation was fantastic. It was impeccably clean and the team was incredibly helpful. The location is ideal, within walking distance of numerous establishments and dining options. Additionally, the proximity to the port means stunning views are easily accessible. The breakfast buffet is exceptional. The rooms are just the right size and maintained in excellent condition.
