All in all it was adequate for us with 3 star pricing.
Hotel- One of the best parts about staying at Catalonia Portal de l'Angel is the fantastic location. We were able to walk from the Placa Cataluyna aerobus stop within minutes. The hotel is just adjacent to the Gothic Quarter area, making it perfect for exploring the atmospheric evening meal options. La Rambla is only one street away if that's the vibe you're looking for. The building exterior is quite historic looking, but the rooms have been modernised. We opted for a room rate with breakfast and there were plenty of food and drink options available. The hotel also has a generous breakfast time, perfect for those looking to start their day a little later during their stay in Barcelona. Room- The room was on the small side compared to American standards but it was the normal size for a European hotel. We had a double window so the street noise was kept at a minimum. However, we could hear a bit of noise coming from the interior hallway too. All in all, the hotel was excellent value for money and gave us a good base to explore Barcelona from.
I had a pleasant stay at Catalonia Portal de l'Angel. The location is great and easily accessible, and the staff member Maria gave some great recommendations for restaurants. The room was adequate but the window, though small, opened to a nice view. Breakfast buffet was delicious and had many tasty options. The room was very quiet and the bathroom was also very convenient. All in all, a great hotel in a perfect location!
