Ciutat Vella

This comfortable lodging is located just two long blocks from Placa Catalunya and a bit shorter to Universitat metro. I disagree with the reviews that state that this is not a nice area, as it is completely safe, even at night. Nearby, there are many bars and restaurants, but don't worry, the well-insulated windows block out the noise. The complimentary breakfast offered is better than your typical continental breakfast, featuring hot eggs, sausage, bacon, cold cuts, cheeses, fruits, breads, yogurt, and cereals. Our stay comprised of three nights at the start and two nights at the end. There is a coffee maker in the room, however a mini-fridge is not available. We were fortunate enough to have a balcony room on the fifth floor, which gave us an amazing view of the street and a wonderful breeze. The staff at the reception are incredible, particularly Albert and Carlos, who are always friendly and helpful. We would stay at this hotel again when we next visit Barcelona.

This hotel had an excellent location and the staff were very helpful. We were able to walk around easily from here. We were able to enjoy a meal on the terrace after purchasing some food from the bakery across the road, and the staff were kind enough to provide us with glasses for some wine. The beds were quite hard, and our room lacked a view, but for a three-night stay in the center of Barcelona for under £300, it was a bargain. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Don't be discouraged by the fact that it's in a city center, it's still a safe place!

This hotel was the perfect choice for our trip to Barcelona. From the moment we arrived - after an early morning flight from Manchester - we were welcomed warmly by the reception staff who kindly offered to store our bags until our room was ready, which it was by the time we returned. The room was spotless, with all the amenities we could wish for; coffee machine, air conditioning, safe, toiletries and even extra blankets. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, with a range of cooked and continental options. Additionally, the location of the hotel was perfect, a mere five minute walk from Las Ramblas and Placa Cataluna, allowing us to explore the beautiful attractions and shops of Barcelona with ease. We had a truly wonderful stay in Ciutat Vella and would highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to the area.

I've just come back after a 4-day stay at Ciutat Vella. We loved the location and free WiFi as well as the clearly large rooms with a rooftop jacuzzi and powerful shower! The only negatives were the loudness of our room (we were in 106 facing the front) and the beds were a bit too hard - ok for 1 or 2 nights but by 4 days, our bodies were aching. We didn't opt for the breakfast here, but found a lovely cafe just 5 doors down called 365 with delicious food for an extremely inexpensive price (our breakfast for two was under €10). All in all, an enjoyable stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ciutat Vella. The location is fantastic and perfect for a city break. It's minutes from all the best sights and attractions. The rooms were modern and spotless with excellent wifi for all our needs. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout. There's even a nice roof top spa - an unexpected treat! The neighborhood has a lively atmosphere but surprisingly you don't hear a thing in the hotel. Plus, there's a shop right outside the hotel and a great selection of cafes and bars. We stayed in two rooms, which were both great and we highly recommend it.
