Exe Cristal Palace

We stayed at this hotel for one night because our flight home was cancelled. We were given a standard room, however it was utterly terrible. It was too cramped, dimly lit and had an unpleasant odour. The bed was too small for two people to sleep in and was so uncomfortable we ended up hardly sleeping at all that night. The bathroom was even worse, with a damaged washbasin and no toiletries.

The personnel at Exe Cristal Palace are untrustworthy and rude. I went for breakfast in the mornings and when I came back, my room had clearly been entered despite the "do not disturb" sign on my door. When I asked the receptionist about it, he refused to admit it and even made up a fake list of who entered my room. The whole situation was deeply disconcerting and it was clear that something shady was going on. This hotel should definitely be avoided, it was a horrible experience.

We stayed at Exe Cristal Palace and were quite disappointed with our stay. The reception area was quite run-down, and our room lacked a coffee machine or kettle, so no easy way to get a caffeine fix. The beds were incredibly hard, with equally uncomfortable pillows, and the WiFi was unreliable and would frequently drop out. To make matters worse, the bar was closed and the walls were incredibly thin, so we could hear all the noise from the other rooms. On the plus side, the location was great, the staff were helpful, and the hotel provided essentials such as soap and shampoo. All in all, not a great experience for us.

The service at Exe Cristal Palace was spotty. We had experienced some difficulty with the air conditioning in our room. When we asked the maid for help, she directed us to the front desk where the receptionist advised us to "OPEN A WINDOW" despite the fact that it was mid April and unseasonably warm. Thankfully, they were willing to move us to a different room after we insisted. Although the new room did not have air conditioning either, at least it was cooler as it faced north and away from direct sunlight. All in all, this 4 star hotel failed to provide a 4 star service.

I had a great stay at Exe Cristal Palace! The staff were so friendly and accommodating - my late arrival wasn't a problem and my early arrival was dealt with without question. The room was lovely and spacious, with traditional Catalan furnishings and decorations, and I even got a free Pepsi from the mini-bar. The only negative about my trip was the lack of a better bar/snack facility, but this certainly wasn't enough to spoil my stay. I highly recommend Exe Cristal Palace for its brilliant location, amazing staff, and great value for money.
