I had a great experience at Exe Cristal Palace. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable and neat. The air conditioning was acceptable, while it could be better, I didn't find it to be an issue. Breakfast had plenty of options and the coffee was great. I was also impressed with the proximity to Las Ramblas and many other attractions. The nearby 24/7 bottle shop was an added bonus. Definitely would stay here again!
The Exe Cristal Palace was a huge disappointment. I had paid 226 Euros for a room, yet the room was minuscule, and small enough that there was not even sufficient space for a chair. The windows could not close properly, thus the noise from the street filled the room. The hotel reception was unhelpful and refused to offer a refund, and I had to take two weeks and escalate the issue before I finally got it. This is a hotel to be avoided; -all the negative reviews are 100% accurate. The air conditioning was broken and weak, with a sound resembling a helicopter. Even more, the breakfast buffet was not up to good standards of hygiene, but it does not matter since the staff was completely unhelpful. Avoid Exe Cristal Palace at all costs, there are plenty of other great hotels in Barcelona!
