Gran Hotel La Florida G.L Monumento
About
Most sumptuous hotel
The most sumptuous hotel in Barcelona, with only one “but”…it is placed high on the city and some 20 minutes from the city centre by car. If this is not a problem for you, this hotel is luxurious. Recently remodelled, offers an extraordinary view of the city, with an impressing indoor and outdoor pool, gigantic rooms and suites designed by reknown artists like: Dale Keller, Cristina Macaya, Rebecca Horn, Ben Jakober and Yannick Yu…Our counsel: Don’t forget to ask for a city view room. For a very special stay!

We had an enjoyable stay, however, a few things left something to be desired. The service was friendly but lacked the professional touch expected of a hotel of this caliber. Our room was quite spacious with a great view of the city and the sea. Unfortunately, the temperature was not regulated properly and we were not able to bring it down. The cocktail bar in the garden was nice, though the service was slow. The spa area was disappointing as it was partially closed, and the remaining areas needed maintenance and a thorough cleaning. The restaurant staff was professional and the food offerings (especially at breakfast) were good, though the atmosphere was lacking. All in all the stay was pleasant, yet it did not meet expectations. The service should be improved to better reflect international hospitality standards, and guests should be made aware of any closures prior to their stay.
I can definitely say that my stay at Gran Hotel La Florida G.L Monumento was one of the best and finest hotel experiences I have ever had. The impeccable service, stunning views, delicious fine dining, and the attention to detail was simply outstanding. In particular, I enjoyed the amazing terrace, the top-notch spa, and the luxurious L’Occitane products. It's the perfect place to get away from it all, but still be close enough to enjoy the city of Barcelona. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful stay in this hotel located in Adorra, with great service, warm staff, fantastic amenities and lovely scenery. Our room was breathtaking, with two balconies, a comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom. We were truly impressed with the quality and all of the pictures on the website were accurate. We couldn't be happier with our stay and have nothing but praise for this hotel.
The worst customer service I experienced. Today, Friday, I got a call with a last minute cancellation of my husband’s surprise birthday celebration next Thursday (less than a week) that included spa treatments and luncheon because a private event “popped up” in their calendar and in order to honor our reservation we would have to additionally book a room or they would cancel. Really? We live down the street. Why didn’t they communicate this “private event” when I made reservations weeks ago?? Not an effort to accommodate and nothing more that “sorry for the inconvenience”. What arrogance! Never again we will set foot in this establishment.
I stayed at the Gran Hotel La Florida G.L Monumento and found it to be a beautiful boutique hotel with gorgeous rooftop views. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, even towards children. Breakfast in the hotel was great, with lots of options to choose from - pastries, cereals, fruit, a traditional Spanish hot breakfast and the ability to ask for eggs and other items. However, the hotel is located outside of the central tourist area, approximately 20-25 minutes away by car, and traffic can make the drive longer. On average, a taxi ride from the hotel to downtown Barcelona costs between 30-40 euro each way. One other thing to note is that the indoor pool is not heated, despite what some reviews might say. However, there is a small jacuzzi/hot tub indoors which is heated.
