This was by far the most disappointing stay I've ever had. The staff were extremely unhelpful and even rude at times. We were unable to check in as they were making a child's bed, so we left our bags with the concierge. However, when we returned at 10 PM, our bags still hadn't been brought to our room. We ended up having to retrieve them ourselves. To make matters worse, we were kept up all night by loud music that lasted from 10 PM until 2 AM. On top of that, there were people loudly talking and running up and down the hallway, making it the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed at. I would not recommend this place, especially if you are on a holiday break with children. It was definitely not a relaxing vacation.
The hotel was an ideal option for conveniently exploring the city. Situated in a peaceful neighborhood, it also offers easy access to various popular attractions within a short amount of time (25-30 minutes to Sagrada Familia, 30 minutes to La Rambla). The T 4, 5, 6 tram and the L4 metro are within a 5-8 minute walk. The room was spacious and cozy, although some signs of wear and tear were noticeable. The breakfast spread is extensive and showcases quality local products in an appealing manner. The variety of hot dishes ensures that everyone can find something to their liking. Unfortunately, the breakfast area had one negative aspect - the temperature was freezing cold every day, forcing guests to wear sweaters and jackets while eating.
The accommodations were satisfactory, although the location was quite distant from the main city center. Our room was acceptable, but we did encounter a strange issue with the air conditioning system shutting off every night around midnight. The employees were pleasant overall, with a standout being Marianna from the front desk. She was exceptionally accommodating and kind.
My experience at the Hotel Barcelona Condal Mar Affiliated by Meliá was somewhat disappointing. While the exterior appeared fine, the interior was in need of basic maintenance. In our rooms, we noticed that many fixtures were in need of repair, specifically, there were loose screws in the bathroom. Additionally, it seemed that everything we touched in the room was unstable, from the towel rail to the tissues and even the cupboard door. On the positive side, the hotel's location is decent for those looking to visit the Ciutadella Park. I would recommend taking the tramway or bus H14 to get there. However, if you plan on exploring further areas of Barcelona, be prepared for longer travel times as connections may take some extra time.
This decent hotel offers guests a good breakfast as well as welcoming staff. The rooms are decent in size (I stayed in one of their premium rooms) but unfortunately there are not the best views. Transportation is quite far away, so you should prepare to spend a lot of time and money on taxis.
