Hotel Casa Bonay
About
The 4* of the moment
Opened in May 2016 Casa Bonay is one of 4 stars most amusing of the moment in Barcelona. Admirably well located on Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, it is at only 10 minutes walkinf from Plaça de Catalunya, far from the tumult but not too much. One appreciates this more and more trendy district of Sant Joan. The hotel, with its bars, restaurants and its famous “Libertine” parties is by itself a place of attraction, very quickly adopted by locals. Do not hesitate.

Picked this hotel for its design, location, food, bar, and rooftop. It proved to be the ideal place for our family vacation - the serene rooftop garden was a great way to relax. Their signature drinks in Libertine were amazing, and our dinner at Bodega Bonay was one of the best experiences we had in the city.
Decided to splurge a little on this hotel as it was the hubby’s birthday trip and it did not disappoint. We were greet by Carmen at the front desk with a warm welcome and informed that we were give a complimentary room upgrade to one with a balcony. As our room was not ready, she suggested for us to have a coffee at the cafe whilst waiting. Not having had lunch, we decided to have some tapas at the Bodega. The food was excellent, from the bread to the olives, but most especially the mackerel with tomatoes, which were cooked perfectly. The room we had was on the highest floor with a lovely view of the residential buildings which looked absolutely charming when the sun rises in the morning. You really get to enjoy it with a nice cup of tea on the balcony. The rooms are well designed and spacious. I love it when they put functionality into thought when designing a hotel room. There are drawers for your clothes, ample hangers provided on the rack and my favourite of all, a good hair dryer! (not one of those coiled wires attached to the wall, or ones where you have to keep your finder on the button) Another worthy mention is the shower, which has a steady flow of hot water at a nice pressure. The location is still convenient although on a more quiet stretch of the city as most of the places of interest are within walking distance or a bus/metro stop away. There’s a convenience store just around the corner of the hotel and a self service laundry about 4 minutes walk behind the hotel. This hotel just has pros all the way and I can’t think of a single thing to complain about. Great job, to the team for an exceptional stay.….
Stayed at this hotel and it was an overall pleasing experience. The rooms were quite beautiful and the mini-bar was a pleasant surprise. The location was superb, however the hospitality and service could have been better. ? It seems like they're in a process of transitioning from concept to one of the best hotels in the area and in the industry, so I guess it was to be expected. ?? Maybe next time! ??
I had an incredible stay at Hotel Casa Bonay! From the moment I arrived, I felt incredibly well taken care of. Staff was so accommodating and eager to help with anything I might need. There were so many things I loved, but my top five would have to be the bed (it was AMAZING!), getting an unexpected free upgrade to a nicer room, the exquisite breakfast selection, the free bike rentals, and the overall atmosphere. It felt like luxury, but with a personal, homey touch. I can't wait to come back!
It was too noisy to sleep properly.
We chose Hotel Casa Bonay for its stunning interior design after reading so many rave reviews online. Upon arrival one can’t help but be impressed. Everything is chic and modern and really stylish. But unfortunately that's where the praises stop. The overall service was not up to par with the other hotels we had experienced during our travels in northern Spain. Half of the staff were friendly and helpful, but the other half were only interested in how they looked and made it seem like a hassle to answer any questions. Breakfast was also disappointing, the food was good but the portion size was small. And to top it off, we had booked a room with a patio, but upon arrival realised that it was facing Gran Vía, meaning it was too noisy to sleep peacefully. 4 years of living in Barcelona taught us that. All in all, we were left feeling unfulfilled.
