Hotel Condado

This accommodation in Barcelona had a great location and was very clean and tidy. It was a nice bonus to have breakfast included in the stay as well. The only downside was the darkness of the room and the fact that there was no kettle for a late night cup of tea. Even though there was coffee available in the lobby, it didn't quite make up for not having the convenience of a kettle in the room.

My husband and I stayed at a hotel for my birthday and wedding anniversary. I had emailed to see if they could book me a table at a local restaurant but heard nothing back. Upon checking into our room, I was disappointed to see two single beds pushed together instead of the booked double room. The beds were incredibly hard and the pillows flat. The room was so dark even with the curtains open, making it hard to even see how much makeup I was applying. We asked reception for a taxi and were told no, that it was not possible. We were given directions to walk to the end of the street and flag one down. After an hour of walking, we finally arrived at the restaurant, hot and sweaty and with blisters on my feet. The next evening we asked for a taxi again and after pushing for it, they finally ordered one and it came within 3 minutes. We asked once more the next day but were denied again. Other than breakfast, which was nice with plenty of choice, the reception staff weren't at all helpful. This ruined our trip to Barcelona as I was so upset, and my husband and I argued on my special day. I'll be honest with my review - I would never stay here again and it's put me off ever returning to Barcelona.

We stayed in a hotel in April 2023 for 3 nights during our visit to Barcelona. It was a short 20 minute drive from the airport. The room was well cleaned every day, although a bit dark. Fortunately, this wasn't a big deal. The shower and bathroom were both spacious and clean; however, there were a few chipped tiles in the bathroom. Breakfast was good with a variety of options, such as bacon, eggs, pastries, yogurt and coffee. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was situated in a great spot, with a bus stop only one minute away.

I had a great stay at this hotel for four nights. It was very clean, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Our room had a view to the front, but even so the traffic noise was not an issue. There was a nice café opposite the hotel, plus a supermarket close by. The Diagonal metro station was only a 10-minute walk away. Additionally, the local area had lots of great places to eat.

Had no problems with the temperature of the room, though there was no AC.

So when I was looking for a hotel, I was running out of time and the prices kept rising. The location of Hotel Condado really appealed to me and although there were other, better options with a kettle in the room, I waited too long and missed out. The location of the property really was perfect. The rooms were small, as is common in most of Europe, but the bathrooms were very strange with the glass door not being lockable and having openings at both the top and bottom. The closet space was good, but the lighting was quite dark due to lack of natural light. We had no issues with the temperature but there was no air conditioning. On the whole, the location was the best thing about it, but a few small improvements like providing kettles in each room would make a big difference.
