Hotel Monegal

My experience at this hotel in Barcelona was highly disappointing. The photos provided were misleading and did not accurately represent the actual accommodations. One major issue was the non-functioning elevator, forcing guests to climb several flights of stairs to reach their room. The rooms were not only unclean, but also resembled a prison. The reception staff were unhelpful and unpleasant, offering no assistance or information. I cannot recommend this hotel.

The hotel checks off all the necessary boxes - prime location, spotless cleanliness, and attentive staff. Plus, it offers great value for money, allowing you to have more to spend on exploring this incredible city. Overall, a great option for budget-conscious travelers.

This accommodation is all about its location! It's a great spot right on Las Ramblas and Plaza Catalunya with plenty of shops and restaurants around, as well as metro, train, and bus stops right on the doorstep. As a 2* hotel, don't expect anything fancy; you get what you pay for, a basic room. Great for us as we didn't plan to spend much time in the hotel, only to sleep and shower! With the transport links so close, it was perfect for us to get to and from the Moto GP and Circuit de Catalunya, and then enjoy the evenings in a central area. The main thing we liked about the room was that the bedding and towels were clean, and the room was cleaned daily. We also had a cute little balcony with a view of the plaza. At first, we thought it might be quite noisy at night, due to the busy streets, but the shutters and windows kept the sound quite well insulated. The staff on arrival and throughout our stay were very nice. We would suggest taking a hair dryer as there isn't one provided - but given that it's a 2* hotel, you can't ask for too much more than what's supplied. All in all, we recommend staying here for its prime location and great value for money. If visiting again, we would certainly book here again.

The location of this hotel is very convenient ? and the view is absolutely stunning ?. Not sure whether I'd recommend it for light sleepers since La Rambla can get pretty noisy even late at night ?. Otherwise, you can find everything you need to visit within walking distance ?, no need for a bus or metro! Rooms are simple and decently equipped with a bathroom en-suite ?, perfect for sleeping and taking a good shower ?. Above all, the staff were really friendly and helpful ?, even keeping our luggage for 4 hours after check-out! Plus, they provided a bunch of leaflets with activities you could do around the city ?️.

The staff were incredibly friendly and the room was spotless. We were lucky enough to have a stunning view of the city centre from our balcony. It was an ideal location for dining, drinking, and the iconic La Rambla was only a brief walk away. It was also a mere 25 minutes to the famous La Sagrada Familia. The showers were clean and pleasant. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking to visit Barcelona. The staff was always around to help and even provided a kettle for us Brits!
