??⛱️Despite its central location, ??the hotel lobby with its stunning original woodwork and elegant chandeliers is a breath of fresh air. Our ?room with a petite balcony provided a surprisingly tranquil escape?. However, I did hear from another guest that they received a windowless room...?
Our air-conditioning worked like a charm ?, but I heard others had a different experience.?
On the downside, the hotel is more akin to a step above a hostel with its twin beds and uncomfortable mattresses. The shower curtains were more like tissue paper, and the water pressure caused a mini-flood. The cracked tiles and outdated decor were in dire need of a revamp. The ?️elevator is on the small side, so prepare to wait a bit.?️
?As for the staff, let's just say they could use some ☕coffee and ?relaxation. But honestly, who wouldn't be grumpy dealing with never-ending complaints??
?The rooftop has potential, but sadly, the turf is in dire need of a makeover. And if you want to soak up the sun, be prepared to pay for a towel.?
??We spent over 400 dollars a night due to a conference in town, which we had to pay in advance. Definitely do some ?research before booking in Barcelona! This place would only be considered a 1-2 star hotel in the U.S. My advice? Avoid this city during conferences and holidays. ?♀️
?Located in the heart of Barcelona, this hotel was perfect for exploring the city ?. It was within walking distance to all the main attractions, including Las Ramblas and Plaza Catalunya. However, be aware that the late nights can be noisy ?. The staff was very friendly and always willing to assist with anything we needed ?♀️. The water pressure in the shower was ? and the beds were comfortable for a good night's sleep ?. They do offer breakfast for an extra cost, but we found plenty of delicious options nearby ?. Overall, a solid choice for a convenient and comfortable stay in Barcelona!
This hotel was recommended to us by a friend who has stayed multiple times. While the location is convenient with a short walk to popular attractions, our stay was unfortunately not very enjoyable. The hotel has a charming old-world feel, but some areas were well maintained while others needed attention. For example, the wooden shutters did not latch properly for noise reduction, and the balcony doors in our second room were not aligned and could not close completely. We had to use a towel to block out the noise while we slept. The staff were hit or miss - some were fantastic, like Enrique and Asana, while others were rude. We had issues with our air conditioning both nights and had to ask for a fan. Unfortunately, the hotel was fully booked and couldn't accommodate us in a different room. The manager was also unavailable to speak with us. When we finally got a new room, it was smaller and not well maintained, with water-damaged furniture and a wobbly toilet. It felt like a punishment room. The noise from inside the hotel was also a problem, as we could hear conversations in the hallway and from other rooms. Outside the hotel, there were also some homeless people sleeping, which made us uncomfortable walking back at night. Overall, we would strongly advise against booking this hotel due to our experience with the air conditioning and the overall handling of the situation.
This hotel was a wonderful find in a prime location. It was just a short walk away from the Gothic Quarter, La Rambla, the seaport, Plaza Catalunya, Gracia, the vibrant La Boqueria market, and the train station. The majority of the staff were very pleasant and accommodating, although there was one individual that I will refer to as "M." I don't want to single her out, but during my encounter with her, she was quite dismissive and condescending. However, the remaining staff were incredibly polite, helpful, and welcoming. Despite this one unpleasant interaction, I would definitely choose to stay here again.
During our stay in Barcelona, we had the pleasure of staying at a fantastic hotel. The room was spacious and even had a small balcony for us to admire the view. The air conditioning was top-notch, and we appreciated the quietness of the location. Plus, the hotel's central location made it easy for us to explore the city. Overall, we had a wonderful trip and felt very safe throughout our stay.
