The images depicted were a true representation. The hotel is in a prime position, perfect for those seeking proximity to the subway. Our accommodations were spacious and featured beautiful decorative detailing. The restroom had been renovated in the past 5-10 years. The air conditioning operated efficiently, and the elevator was functional. The storage room for luggage seemed well-protected, and there were restroom facilities available for a quick refresh after a long flight. The employees were hospitable and accommodating. The accommodation we booked in Barcelona seemed promising on the website, and its central location was ideal. However, our experience fell short in many ways. Despite having large rooms with quaint balconies overlooking the bustling street, the outdated decor was quite uninviting. My spouse and I were provided with twin beds, which was awkward, and it appeared as though the mattresses were overdue for a replacement. The bathroom was minuscule, with visible mold in the shower grout. While the air conditioning functioned adequately, we had to call for maintenance on the first day as it was leaking water. After returning from our initial exploration, we found water all over the floor. The WiFi was reasonably fast, but we had to reconnect our devices every 20-30 minutes due to their captive portal, causing frustration and unnecessary international data usage. This issue persisted across all our devices. Basic amenities like complementary bottled water were lacking in the rooms, and the safe was an ordeal to use, requiring the room key to set a code. Despite my 20 years in the tech industry, I could not decipher the process. To top it off, when we requested bottled water from the staff, we were directed to use the vending machine instead. We opted to walk to a nearby market and purchase our own. The overall staff attitude was less than welcoming, with a noticeable lack of basic customer service skills. For the amount we paid for our stay, we had higher expectations and were quite disappointed. We are certain there are better options at comparable rates in the area. Needless to say, we do not recommend this hotel.

This hotel is in an ideal location near the shopping district and popular tourist attractions. Its proximity to central bus and airport transfer routes was very convenient. While not a luxury hotel, it has its own charm and offers a comfortable stay. We would certainly return to this hotel. The housekeeping service was exceptional, as our room was impeccably made up every day. The hotel also assisted us in booking transfers whenever necessary. Although we did not have a meal at the hotel, their breakfast menu was decent. Instead, we opted to try out the small coffee shops hidden throughout the area.

Staying at Hotel Nouvel in Barcelona was an amazing experience! This little old world hotel is located right at the doorstep of the ancient city and the renowned Ramblas. The room I stayed in had a balcony and the staff were both pleasant and helpful. The real advantage is its location - right at the heart of so many great places to visit. If you don't fancy having breakfast at the hotel, you can just walk ten paces and find fresh croissants and coffee. Plus, turn right to get to the 'Kissing Wall' and the cathedral, left to wander the Ramblas and another right to get to Placa Catalunya!

This accommodation was ideal for our needs. Situated right in the centre of Barcelona, it's just a stone's throw away from Las Ramblas and very close to the Metro stop at Catalunya. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the rooms were both clean and satisfactory. We decided to go for the continental option on the breakfast menu, which was great. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience.
