This place is situated conveniently in Barcelona, just a short stroll from the train station for those wanting to explore the city. Despite arriving late, the person at the front desk kindly assisted us and addressed any concerns we had about our accommodations. Our room was generously sized and we had no complaints whatsoever. The cleaning staff came in every day and provided satisfactory service. The only downside was the noise from the nearby hospital during the evenings, but it wasn't too bothersome. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay and we wouldn't hesitate to return.
The accommodation was immaculate. Housekeeping diligently refreshed the rooms daily, providing us with clean towels. Each morning, we were offered a cold spread of cheese, meats, Spanish omelette, eggs, beans, and an assortment of muffins for breakfast. We also had the choice of café con leche and narajano. Unfortunately, our stay was disrupted by the loud construction noises from the adjacent street every morning. This was quite bothersome. As for the area, it was decent enough. There was a coffee shop and a pharmacy conveniently located across the street, and the metro and bus stops were just a short stroll away.
I had an absolutely horrendous experience at the Hotel Viladomat by Silken in Barcelona. The air conditioning didn't work, it was noisy, and the decor was old fashioned. To add to the disappointment, there were no tea or coffee making facilities and the WiFi was weak. The reception staff were also rude and unhelpful. To top it off, the entire hotel had a stale smell. Our first room had a view of two walls and someone's dirty laundry. Not exactly the picturesque view we were hoping for.
Staying at this spot for two different visits to Barcelona was a great idea! We were close to the train station and ? all the sights. Rooms were spick and span and had adequate facilities ?. However, the wifi up on the higher floors was nonexistent ? and the elevators weren't up to par ?. The front desk staff were incredibly accommodating though ?, especially when they provided us with an iron. All in all, this is definitely a recommendable place to stay for a couple of nights ?!
I have traveled the world for work for the past 45 years, so I believe I can say that ? I have recently stayed in one of the most terrible hotels ever. I had pre-paid for a 4 night stay but when we got there 12 hours late due to a canceled flight, our booking had been cancelled and we were asked to pay again. ?I had also pre-paid for breakfast, but when I went to get it I was asked again to pay and told I could reclaim pre-payment later. I ended up not eating there at all as the food was unedible. ?The staff were incredibly rude, the air conditioning didn't work, the Wi-Fi was slow and kept cutting off, and the noise from an ongoing construction site and traffic was unbearable. ?The double glazing was old and not effective at all. To top it all off, this hotel had been recommended and booked for us by TUI. ?♀️Please read the one star reviews - they are not lying, this place was worse than ever imagined.
