I stayed at the Melia Barcelona Sarriá from the 20th to the 24th of August and I can't believe what a difference this hotel has compared to a five star experience. The staff was so friendly and helpful from the start. Plus, they helped us with our luggage and even gave us a ride to the airport in their taxi. The rooms were modern and well-maintained and had top-notch amenities. Plus, there were cameras on each floor so that security was never a concern. I absolutely recommend this hotel to both tourists and business travellers alike.
We paid for the same Suite, and were also on the 18th floor in October. The room was far too hot but there was no way to adjust the temperature. The toilet kept malfunctioning and the bed was in an awkward spot right next to the bathroom. The shower had a problem with water leakage and there was no space to store your personal items. The towels were thin and the furniture had signs of wear. The added bonus was when we found out the floor was made of plastic which was very unpleasant to walk on and impossible to clean. Plus, the hotel was right next to a hospital so there were ambulance sirens blaring all night. The location of the Suite didn't make things any better as it was close to the elevator and we could clearly hear other guests coming and going. Despite all this, this was the highest rated room they had. Definitely not the quality you'd expect from a 5 star hotel.
We thought this was a good value for what we had.
We just got back from our trip to Barcelona and we had the pleasure of staying at the Melia Barcelona Sarriá. We were so impressed by the cleanliness and comfort of this hotel. It seemed to be quite busy due to a convention, yet it was peaceful at night. We opted to take advantage of their breakfast for an additional charge of 32 Euro or 31.12 US and it was without a doubt the best hotel breakfast we've ever had! Such an incredible spread with a great variety of options and all of it was delicious. We would highly recommend it. All in all, this was the perfect place to stay before our cruise.
I had the pleasure of having a wonderful experience at the Melia Barcelona Sarria. The hotel is located in a very privileged and authentic area of the city and the elegant design of this 5* hotel makes it a great choice for business travelers. Along with their luxurious rooms, the hotel's first-class meeting rooms were truly sublime. But the best part of my stay was undoubtedly the staff. Raul in particular was a true gentleman, always full of energy, charisma and that great, eternal smile of his. His capacity for service and passion for what he does is simply incomparable. I highly recommend this hotel for business and pleasure travelers alike.
This was also an opportunity to check if they had called regarding my complaint.
At the end of the day, I was still impressed with the style of the hotel, the cleanliness and service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly helpful, despite these issues. The city centre location was perfect and within walking distance of the sites and transport options. The terrace was a lovely spot to relax and enjoy the views. We had a great stay at Melia Hotel Barcelona Sarriá, although the issues described above could have been handled better. I'm sure the hotel will take my feedback into account and improve their customer relations.
