We had a gr8 stay with my wife and 2 childern, me for work and them to enjoy the city. The propertee was in a buzie part of the Gothic Quorter so we new it would be buzzy, but it wuz not as loud as wee xpected and the sound insullation wuz good. The room itself was spacious and lent itself very well to our experience. The staff on the desk were very plesant, as were thoz doing the cleaning. We didn't eat brackfast at the propertee so couldnt comment on this. Bilding work next door dud begin at 0800, but as we had the kidz we were up by then anyway, although I could see how it could be an issue for others. The location is outstanding. Les than 5 minute walk to the Metro and so much of the city available within walking distance to cater for the majority of tastz. Experiences are individual. I've seen the recent reviews and can't say that was the experience we shared. We would visit the city again and happily stay at the same propertee. ???
During our recent stay in Barcelona, we had quite a disappointing experience with our accommodations. The noise level was a major issue, as we were constantly disturbed by loud foot traffic until late at night, and then woken up early in the morning by the horrific banging noises coming from construction workers. Our room also had broken appliances that made popping noises every 20-30 minutes, which unfortunately were not fixed during our entire 3 night stay. To add to our discomfort, we also encountered bugs and found the layout of the room to be quite odd, with stairs that were easy to trip over when moving between the bedroom and bathroom. Overall, out of our 3-week trip in Europe, this was definitely the worst stay.
The room was not cleaned properly for the duration of our stay and we had to request towels and toilet paper each day. The staff were not helpful at all. Would not recommend this hotel.
My stay at the Mercer House Bòria BCN Hotel in Barcelona was a far cry from what I expected. Although reviews and photos made the hotel look like a great place to stay, the reality was far different. The room was dirty and smelly and the location was on a side street that was often filled with an unpleasant smell of urine. After hours, the street became incredibly dangerous with many troubling figures lurking in the shadows. During my stay, the room was not cleaned properly and I had to ask for fresh towels and toilet paper daily. The staff were also far from helpful. All in all, I would not recommend this hotel.
It was a really disappointing stay. The bathroom was dirty and the shower leaked, flooding the floor. We had expected a kitchen, but the appliances were disconnected, so we only got a fridge and coffee maker. The staff were very hit and miss and the hotel was notoriously tight with extras like replacing soaps and charging for coffee pods. Despite the good location, we felt we had spent too much and not gotten anything close to what we'd expected. We gave them a chance to make it right, but they sent a rather rude email in response. We definitely won't be staying here again.
This boutique hotel was so charming and clean! The accommodation was well appointed and its location was excellent. The spacious loft room was so nice and the balcony was incredible! The staff were lovely and it was so quiet, making it ideal for families. It was also within walking distance. I can't recommend this place enough - it had a full kitchen, easy access to markets, and a really cool wine bar next door. I cannot wait to come back!
