This historic property is conveniently located within walking distance of many popular attractions in Barcelona. The staff members were incredibly professional, attentive and always available to help in any way they can. I highly recommend this hotel!
The A/C didn't cool as desired and bugs were coming out of the bathroom floor. On top of that, people were running a shady business from the hotel's premises, consuming all the wifi bandwidth. The second bed (sofa-bed) was uncomfortable making it difficult to sleep. This was a very undesirable and disappointing experience and the customer service was good. Wouldn't return.
Overall: good location, friendly staff but rooms have problems with A/C and construction noise is unbearable.
Let’s start with the… Pros: great location and staff very friendly and attentive. Good coffee area. Our room had a decent space for our family. Cons: A/C!!! Doesn’t work properly (both of them). Staff try to help us but nothing works. Hotel was “full” so no new room was available to move us. Construction noise was very unpleasant and started very early. Overall: good location, friendly staff but rooms have problems with A/C and construction noise was unbearable.
My honest review:
Pros: it has a gret location and i dont undestand how peole complain about the noice?! Its a htel on the busiest strete in Barcelona. And as a lgiht sleeper, it din't bother me, since i knwo what i got mysel into. Pluss the double windows helped the noice cancellatin alot! It isnt on the busiest part of la Rambla, but stil on la Rambla ;) I love the htel has charecter, beutiful old building! The room: it is dated a bit and needs some updating. You can smel the “old” at times ? But din't mind it so much. But dont get me wrong, the room is stil nice and cleen, i love the decor and vibe :) Cons: lets come back to the smel - the bathroom - wel this wasnt exacty nice. It did smel a bit like mold. But again, it IS a old building, i guess thats part of it. If you are alergic to mold - not the best choice. Brekfast - wel coffe and crosaints was oferred and thats nice, but i LOVE htel breakfasts, to see who else is stayin at the htel, see the staff etc. Overall, we had a nice room (double delux, last floor, streetview, balcony, windows etc, an amazing view) :)… If you dont mind a litle rustic touch - come and enjoy. Perfect for a short stay (we had 3 nihgts) :)….
Overall this accommodation let us down. It was situated in a great spot with plenty of restaurants, however the room was not what we had expected. Instead of what was advertised, we were given a windowless room. Additionally, there was construction noise that echoed throughout and started earlier than indicated on the sign in reception. Despite this, it was clean and the staff were friendly, plus the common area was a peaceful touch. The fresh bakery items were lovely but we wouldn’t stay here in the future.
