This hotel was absolutely horrendous. ? From the unprofessional and rude staff to the subpar breakfast, this place was an overall terrible experience. Plus, they blatantly took advantage of us tourists by ripping us off to the tune of ?$500! ? We were not even offered an apology or a reimbursement for the stolen money. To top it off, the location is convenient but is also incredibly loud until 5am... Who could sleep?! ? Avoid this place at all costs and don't trust the "housekeeping" ??. The only good thing I can say about it is that it taught me valuable lessons about not leaving valuables in my room. ?
Staying at this accommodation in Barcelona was a great experience. Its location is excellent, just off the Ramblas, with bars and restaurants all around. The hotel has its own bar/restaurant with seating in a lovely square. We had plenty of drinks and some meals there and all were very good. The room is basic, but it was clean and the shower worked fine, which is all that matters. However, there is a lack of power sockets; with a dodgy-looking extension lead hanging off the ceiling. Breakfast is served in a nightclub-like area, not particularly inviting, so not worth getting up for. Despite this, the accommodation provides a great base to visit the city at a very reasonable price.
That night I called the front desk and asked if I could move to another location and was told there were no vacancies. Needless to say I left the next morning and lost my 2 nights fees.
I had high hopes for this accommodation, but it was a disappointment. The room was cramped without a window and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Uncontrollable noise made it difficult to sleep, and I was even woken a few times in the night with people shouting outside my room. I left in the day to take a look around, and the state of the elevator was quite dirty. To make matters worse, when I returned that evening, I witnessed many homeless people drinking and sleeping in the nearby square. Feeling unsafe, I contacted the front desk and asked to move, but I was told there were no vacancies. I left the next morning, forfeiting the two nights' fees.
Good things: Staying at Roma Reial was a great experience! I was especially impressed by the receptionist - she was friendly and welcoming, and her colleague Muhamed was a top-notch professional. The room was always perfectly clean, with fresh towels each day, and the service was excellent. The location was superb too - the hotel has its own unique charm. Bad things: The only criticism I would have was that breakfast was a bit lacking in terms of variety - a few egg or bacon dishes would have been nice. Also, the area can get quite noisy with the hustle and bustle of people going on around the clock. But really, this was only a minor issue in an otherwise enjoyable stay. I look forward to coming back!
Eddie Chocolate already told me how amazing Roma Reial is so I had to check it out. I'm so glad I did because it was everything he said and more. Quality ingredients, great flavors, and the portions were huge! Service was also top notch and you can really tell the kitchen staff takes pride in what they do. Highly recommend this place if you're in Donegal. 10/10 would eat here again!
