As a solo traveler, I found the location of this hotel very safe and conveniently located in the city near shopping, a metro station, a supermarket, a fruit shop, and lots of coffee shops and restaurants. The reception staff was amazing - their customer service was remarkable; everything was taken care of quickly and efficiently.
Dear Thees & Anna - Thank you both for making my first trip to Barcelona so comforting and comfortable!! The airlines lost my luggage and my phone didn't work and Thees and Anna jumped on board with helping me navigate both - first they helped get my phone working and then my luggage showed up!! They were so both so caring and helpful every day!! My room and bed was ultra comfortable and the location was perfect - 5 stars to Thees, Anna and the rest of the staff - please visit them at this hotel - you will love it!! Thanks again, Ladies, for taking such great care of me ..Big Hugs, Denise from Canada.
I absolutely loved staying at the Allegro Barcelona Hotel! It was in such a great and safe location and close to a wide variety of restaurants and bars. The staff were absolutely wonderful and the hotel was so nicely decorated. It was clean and had plenty of space in the room, which was nice. My favorite part was the delicious breakfast! I definitely plan to stay here again when I come back to Barcelona.
This was the worst hotel stay I have experienced in 40 years. Prior to my visit, I had reserved the room via booking.com, and the booking process offered the option to cancel the reservation until the day of the stay, with no prepayment necessary. To my surprise, I found that my card had been charged for the full amount two months before the stay. Despite multiple attempts to contact the hotel via booking.com and email, I was not able to get any response. My attempts to contact the hotel's manager, Cristina, proved unsuccessful. After multiple attempts, I canceled my reservation through booking.com and found another hotel to stay at instead. When I filed a dispute through my credit card company, the hotel responded that the booking was non-refundable, with the booking papers appearing to show there was no prepayment and it was cancelable until the date of stay. I am still awaiting resolution.
I stayed at this hotel and was very pleased with my experience. Reception staff welcomed me and even offered an upgrade for no extra cost. My room on the 4th floor was perfect for my work trip and had good wifi. The only downside was hearing people coming back to their rooms in the corridor at 2am. However, the room was soundproofed. The breakfast buffet was small but tasty. I would definitely stay there again.
