We stayed at Exe Laietana Palace for a few days during our visit to Barcelona and it was an excellent experience. The room was very spacious and clean, perfectly equipped and the bathroom was beautiful. Plus, we had an incredible breakfast at the restaurant just a few steps away! The hotel's location was perfect, within walking distance to the Gothic quarter and all its attractions. The only downside was that the safe in the room was broken, so we had to leave our belongings at the reception desk while we were out. All in all, a great stay and we would definitely recommend it!
we have 8 people in the group), we realised how dirty and old the room looked, it’s as if it hasn’t been renovated for more than 10 to 15 years and the beds are so uncomfortable not relaxing at all. The service was worst of all we had to keep calling reception for them to answer our question and the most important for me was the breakfast, it was the worst breakfast I’ve ever had, there was only bread and coffee, no other variety at all.
This hotel was a huge disappointment. We had so much expectations from the Exe Laietana Palace as we had a great experience in the other Exe in Madrid. Unfortunately, this experience was totally different. The entrance was too dark and smelly like a public restroom. The rooms were also old and dirty and the beds were really uncomfortable. The service was really bad, we had to keep calling the reception for any questions. But the worst experience was the breakfast. There were only bread and coffee, no other varieties at all. All in all, this was a terrible stay, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
I stayed at Exe Laietana Palace and while it is conveniently located a 10 minute walk away from the beach and the city centre, that was probably the only positive aspect of my stay. The staff at check-in were friendly, but this was the only thing that I can say in praise of this hotel. The rooms are so small and outdated and unbearably filthy - for the price you pay you cannot expect to have an enjoyable stay here. I would not recommend ever staying in this hotel, there are definitely better options available for the same price.
