I was attending a conference in Barcelona and was looking for a reasonably priced hotel and came across this hotel. I cannot fault a single thing about the hotel ? Staff were friendly ?, the rooms were clean and large ?. Breakfast was typically continental ?. The only small thing is that the room walls don't appear to be very sound proof as I could hear the TV from next door ?, but other than that it is an excellent place to stay ?.
I would highly recommend this hotel.
On arrival, the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, making check-in a breeze. The room was pleasantly appointed, and despite facing away from the main street, was incredibly tranquil. I would heartily suggest this establishment.
We recently stayed at the HCC St Moritz Hotel in Barcelona and had an excellent experience. Our flights from Bristol were unfortunately delayed due to industrial action, but thanks to EasyJet's app we were kept informed. We took the Aerobus shuttle service and were pleased to find that we could scan the same tickets for the return journey. The hotel was only a 10 minute walk from Placa de Catalunya, so we arrived conveniently late at night and were warmly welcomed by Alexandra, the receptionist. The room was spotless and came equipped with a safe and lovely TV. There was no tea/coffee facilities, but our friends asked for and were happily loaned a kettle. In the morning, the continental type breakfast buffet offered plenty of variety and even boiled eggs. There was also a tasty selection of coffees from the machine and water for tea, though unfortunately no English tea bags. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but one evening we returned to the bar and enjoyed some tapas-style snacks with our drinks while listening to an excellent singer and guitarist. There were plenty of restaurants to discover in the area during our evenings. On departure we were also able to store our bags in a secure room until our late flight. The staff at the St Moritz were all lovely, friendly and helpful and we would definitely go back to stay with them again.
My recent stay at the HCC St. Moritz was a disappointment. The hotel used to be my favorite travel destination, but it's no longer the same. The first thing I noticed was that none of the flags that used to be proudly displayed on the facade were present any more. Upon entering, I was shocked to find that there was no busboy in sight and that I had to drag my suitcases up several steps to enter. There was no ramp or an elevator to help travellers like me with my heavy luggage. Furthermore, the rooms have undergone a laminate flooring renovation, making them appear more like a hostel than a luxurious hotel. Additionally, there was no reward program for regulars like myself. The rooms also seemed to be smaller than before. All in all, I hope the days of former glory will return to this hotel.
Property is well maintained. But we had a few issues: 1- The elevators are too tiny. We couldn't fit 4 people with luggage, just 2 with bags. 2- Our room was too stuffy and we had to keep the window open, compromising on privacy and adding noise. We think either a ceiling fan or portable room fan would have been great additions.
