This accommodation is situated on a tranquil street within the bustling Gothic district, making it ideal for exploring the city. The air conditioning was unfortunately of a poor standard. The staff, particularly those in the restaurant, were really friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and the breakfast was delightful, but the €22 price per person was slightly overpriced.
We had a mixed experience at this boutique hotel. ?The Pros: the front desk staff was very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was delicious and had lots of options ??and was made to order, plus it was situated in a great spot close to the cathedral. As an extra bonus, they offered a free history tour on Sunday morning ?. At 5 o’clock in the restaurant you get a complimentary glass of wine ? with some cheese and olives - nice! ? The Cons: air conditioning ? was an issue, it was too hot to sleep and not possible to do hair without sweating buckets. ? Also, the bathroom lighting was dim ⚡️, there was only one English-speaking channel on the TV and the shower had a broken towel bar. ? Plus, the pillows were unbelievably flat and we had to order three more - yikes! ?We stayed in room 216.
We spent 4 days at this place and the air conditioning in our room was an issue - it was centralized and we couldn't control it, so the room stayed uncomfortably hot throughout our stay. We reported it, but it took them until the following day to send a technician and even then, the problem wasn't fixed. The receptionists and bartenders were polite, but the male restaurant server was really rude in his responses. The only positive aspect was the excellent location, right around the corner from the cathedral. We'd recommend you look somewhere else for a place to stay.
We had an amazing experience staying here. The staff were so obliging - storing our luggage until check in, providing a map with recommendations and even calling cabs! Our room was pleasant and peaceful, and the hotel is in close proximity to la rambla and other attractions. Breakfast was delicious, although €20 seemed slightly pricey. All in all, it was a wonderful visit.
Hotel Barcelona Catedral is a great hotel, in the perfect location for exploring Barcelona. The warm, sunny weather made our 4 night stay a memorable experience. The rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds, and the bathrooms have plenty of hot water. Breakfast was really nice with a great choice of hot food cooked to order. The only thing we didn't like was the seating in the bar, it could have been more comfortable, but it wasn't a major issue. The food, both in the hotel and local restaurants, was delicious. We had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend it to others.
