I stayed at a B&B here for 3 nights in early June with my cousin. The airport bus cost €7.50 pp and brought us right to the centre of Playa de Catalunya. From there it was a 10-12 min walk to the hotel - past the Carrefour Supermarket and Boqueria Market - onto Carrer de l'Hospital, where the hotel is located. Our room was on the 4th floor with a great view of the square. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioner worked well. Toiletries and a hair dryer were also supplied. Breakfast was good, with hot and cold food, juices, tea, and coffee available. The room was cleaned well. The square, unfortunately, was filled with homeless people and drunks. Despite that, there were still cafes and take-aways nearby. The 3 nights cost €674. This was my fourth visit to this place - though it had a slightly different name before. Cleaning ladies were polite, the young lady in the breakfast room was polite and friendly, and the woman in reception was unfriendly - it was hard to get a smile out of her. That said, there's a new hotel nearby called the Ramblas Hotel which I might try the next time I visit Barcelona.
This hotel is a great place to stay for its convenient location just off Las Ramblas, close to the beach marina and metro. You can easily explore all the nearby action and culinary delights, like “Homuus & Co” and “Sweet Gaufre”, or the nearby La Bouqueria market, one of Europe's best. The breakfast is ample, offering a continental selection with Spanish sausage and bacon. The rooms and hotel are always clean and the staff are pleasant, helpful, and courteous. Don't let reviews deter you, yes, there are homeless/alcoholics/druggies/mental health, but isn't that the case everywhere these days? Have your wits about you and appreciate all that Barcelona has to offer by booking here!
This hotel is situated in one of the grittiest areas of Barcelona, according to the locals. It is said to be full of pickpockets and thieves. Besides two glasses, our room was not furnished with other amenities such as a kettle or coffee maker. Given the price, there are better hotels to be found in more appealing parts of the city. Nevertheless, the hotel was clean and recently remodeled in an attractive fashion. As an alternative, there are plenty of hotels in the nicer neighbourhoods of Barcelona with the same price.
Staying at this place was really great! Thanks to its prime location, just a two-minute walk from Las Ramblas and with the metro close by, there was no need to worry about getting around the city. Our room faced a small road, but it was very quiet. ?The room was clean and even had a small balcony. ? The bed was comfortable and there was a secure room for luggage storage at reception. ? We never had to have breakfast because we preferred to eat out - but overall the hotel was great and quiet. ✅ ?️ ?️
The walls in our room were incredibly thin. We could hear everything that was going on in the room opposite us and the one below us. Even though our room itself was really lovely, it was difficult to feel comfortable with the constant noise at 3am in the morning. The beds were very comfortable and the cleaners did a great job. The square outside can be a little intimidating due to the presence of a lot of homeless people asking for money. The good news is that it was only a one minute walk to las ramblas. All in all, we would suggest looking for somewhere else.
